Bookstore (out at Airport Mall) is open again,

Good news! The Friends of the Juneau Public Libraries Amazing Bookstore is back open after some plumbing repairs. This volunteer-run bookstore does incredible work to raise funds that support library programs. By supporting them, you support the libraries, and you will probably find some great deals on books in the process!

Bookstore update: Sorry, we’re still closed due to plumbing issues. It seems to be a much bigger issue than was originally thought, so we do not have any date for re-opening. We apologize for any inconvenience and are anxious to open again as soon as we can.

Looking for your first job? A way to add to your resume? Or just a few extra hours a week of work?

We are accepting applications for two Page positions at the Downtown Juneau Public Library. These work reshelving library books and materials, 3 days a week, 5 to 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. They are CBJ Range 1 positions ($12.05/hr, rising to $12.29/hr on July 1, 2024) with a simplified hiring process.

Just stop in at the Downtown library and ask for a paper application, or reach out to Jenna at 907-586-0447 or [email protected] with any questions.

The Amazing Bookstore will be closed Thursday, Jan 25 due to plumbing issues and some extensive clean up to be done. When in doubt, be sure to call the store before coming. 789-4913.

Happy Monday afternoon!

The Douglas Library will reopen to the public today, Monday, December 18 at 2pm and will resume normal open hours.

If you have holds en route to another location and would like them sent to the Douglas Library please call 907-586-5249.

Storytime will be held at the Downtown Library on Tuesdays at 3:30pm through the end of December.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while we remained closed due to flood repairs. We are excited to welcome everyone back to the Douglas Library!

📚📚📚Holds shelves are FULL at the Downtown Library!

We received a large shipment of material from our partner libraries across the state this week. Lots of the books, movies, and CDs we received were requested by Juneau library patrons. Did you know that you have access to material from around Alaska? If there's something we don't own, you can place it on hold right in our online catalog and have it mailed to Juneau.

P.S. If you have a something on hold at either the Valley or Downtown locations please stop by! Our holds shelves are getting fit to burst!

We're making progress on repairs at the Douglas Library but it remains closed. Thank you for your patience and to all who have expressed your concern. We hope to reopen soon!

In the meantime, please call 907-586-5249 to have any holds rerouted to our Downtown or Valley locations. The book drop remains open and we'll continue to check it regularly.
