Plastic free for 4 years!
#repost β’ @chelseaannyoga
Plastic free for 4 years ladies, and I couldnβt be more grateful. I am lighter, brighter, healthier and happier. I am in this beautiful place where I look back and I smileβ¦where I look in the mirror and am proud, confident and able. Able to love me, all of me, every scar, & every perfection that makes me, me.
Dear younger me, I forgive you, thank you, I love you. Thank you for this journey home to my natural and healing self. I am so grateful for the loving relationship that I now have with my body. Loving myself didnβt come easy, it took time, it took daily practice and it took facing major fears and insecurities.
Some symptoms of breast implant illness that I experienced were fatigue, unexplainable rashes, yellow/brown coloring in whites of my eyes, brain fog and anxiety. After removing my toxic implants I could breathe easy, move freely (after healing) and reside in my own body, my own natural state of being.
I invite you to repeat after me: I am healing, I am healthy, I am whole, I am art, I am unique, I am beautiful and most importantlyβ¦ I am ME! β¨π₯°
Forever and ever thankful for my incredible Dr @davidrankinmd and for his amazing liaison @dee.hicks_explant_liaison β¨ππΌ

Drain removal
#repost β’ @thecarlamarie
DRAINS REMOVED! And so easy. No pain. Just weird. Like a boob burp. πΉ I feel great! When I first started looking into l explants a few years ago I remember googling "do you have to get drains?" I was SO scared of them. But after talking to so many women I learned they were more annoying than painful and they were correct. I had some minor discomfort on the left side and it went away once the drain came out! @flgirlie86 from @davidrankinmd's office is an absolute gem and made the whole process so simple, painless, and comfortable. ππ½ shout out @worstanthony for filming! Healing Journey β₯οΈ
#repost β’ @chronically.sexy
For so long, I believed that if I βfixedβ my body, I would fix my healthβ¦ All my life my undiagnosed, and ever-evolving Endometriosis, PMDD, CPTSD, & Pelvic Floor Dysfunction symptoms were constantly dismissed & blamed on my weight, diet, and appearance. Until desperation led me to a plastic surgeonβs office at the age of 24 (2016) convinced that a breast augmentation would solve all my problemsβ¦ π€¦πΌββοΈ
Being medically gaslit for 24 years, I thought changing my body could change my health. The implants worsened my symptoms. Finally, after extreme suffering, I began to uncover not only had I been suffering with coexisting chronic illnesses ALL along, but now I ALSO had severe #breastimplantillness . The implants were exacerbating everything, making life feel truly unlivableβ¦
Deciding to explant was both terrifying & hopeful. Advocating for the support and care I needed took years, and the waitlist for surgery with a trusted specialist was even longer. Speaking with @davidrankinmd & @dee.hicks_explant_liaison brought me clarity and determination. Leading up to my explant, I wrestled with almost every possible emotionβ¦ On the day of surgery though, I felt calm relief and new found pride for advocating for myself all this time. Post-surgery, my first words were, βI did it.β π₯Ή
Since explanting I feel more present, strong, and beautiful. My chronic illnesses are still here, but Iβm no longer battling daily; and have begun to build my way to a new healthy βnormal.β I can breathe deeply, give warm hugs, Iβve return to yoga, and have much more mental clarity. Iβm still detoxing, and some days are better than others but everyday the little girl in me is slowly learning how to feel safe. My chronic illness was never her fault.
This journey has been far from perfect, but itβs been mine, and Iβve come to love it even more for that. The self-trust and gratitude I have gained far outweigh any remaini

Capsule Cutting β’ Unknown Mass
βππ‘π€π¦ππ ππ¦π₯π₯πππ
β οΈ
This patient recently had breast explant surgery in my office. She presented with EXTREME pain on her left side and an unknown mass. Her silicone implants, capsules, and mass were all removed. The mass was most likely an encapsulated old hematoma. This is something that I have seen in the past with old hematomas and seromas, which can be confused as residual capsules.

Healing journey β€οΈβπ©Ή
#repost β’ @bramty
Years ago it crossed my mind to remove my breast implants from my body. As months and time passed by, that decision left my mind but then I found myself on a new path. A path towards a relationship with God, our Lord and Savior. After making that decision and growing my relationship with God, I felt like He was putting signs AND people in my life to lead me to the choice of removing my implants from my bodyβ¦my temple.
βHow could I be living such a healthy, holistic, natural life with two foreign objects in my chest?β I always thought to myself. My body was fighting it everyday. Giving me signs to take them out by talking to me with symptoms. I finally listened with the guidance of God and made the decision to explant.
The scar tissue that formed around my implants left me in shock. My body was fighting the implants for years and I had no idea how much it was taking away from me.
4/24/24 β¨ the day @davidrankinmd removed my implants. @davidrankinmd and his entire staff are angels sent from heaven. Especially, @dee.hicks_explant_liaison. Thank you for being there for me and never leaving my side! She held my hand and showed me so much love and comfort while I laid on the operating table and drifted off to sleep. Iβve had two other breast augmentations before and this experience was genuinely BEAUTIFUL. I felt the presence of God in the room as I closed my eyes and prayed to Him before slowly falling asleep.
Thank you, again @davidrankinmd for taking amazing care of me in the operating room. Iβd pick you again and again.
Thank you, @montana.kaoud for leading me to them, youβre so strong and I admire you. You always reassured me when I questioned myself π₯Ή
Thank you, @vegancheflori for coming into my life. The day I mentioned to you I wanted to explant, you told me you were going into surgery a few days from then for an explant too! I donβt believe in coincidences. God placed you in front of me that very morning to give me a s

Ok not literally but there was A LOT going on when I had them inβ¦
Most people ask βHow did you know it was your implants?β And I respond βmy intuitionβ however I didnβt TRULY know know Until they were out.
Symptoms I had just disappeared and others started to slowly fade. And when I got them out I had immediate relief with my breathing.
So thankful for @davidrankinmd and @dee.hicks_explant_liaison for getting me in AFTER calling every single week⦠because it got to a point where I passed out in the shower and hit my head.
I have zero regrets getting my implants out and zero regrets getting them in. Iβm just happy to be alive and well now.

Reflectionβ¦3 months post breast explant surgery
#repost β’ @daddyslittlepeanut83
1- Your body WANTS to heal. Mine was fighting for years to & patiently waiting for me to listen. I not only saw immediate results, but continue to each week as I recalibrate & reactivate all of my cells.
2- Our intuition is NEVER wrong. I trusted mine, decided to wait for @davidrankinmd , & did whatever it took to travel out to him. I still hear stories from others who are unhappy after choosing other Dr's. The main reason: they were talked into or out of things that didn't feel right. I encourage anyone feeling confused or scared to go within, & listen.
Which leads me to...
3- Women NEED support in this process more than ever. From their Dr's & each other. I have met so many wonderful ladies in the explant community who have been brave enough to share their story or reach out with questions for their upcoming journey. If it wasn't for those sharing to begin with, I would've never learned about bii & may still be chasing mystery symptoms to this day.
Thank you SO MUCH body, I love you for still choosing to show up after all the abuse you've taken over the years with toxic thoughts about image & beauty, or toxic lifestyle practices. I have left ALL of that in the past, but the 20 yr old implants were still living inside of me, & those were the missing piece. Thank you Dr. Rankin & team for all you do for us. I think of you all each day as I wake up feeling healthier than ever. β€οΈππΌ

Happy 4 Year Explant Anniversary
@chelseaannyoga
Peace EraποΈ4 years post breast explant ππΌ I couldnβt love my body more.
I donβt use filters to cover up (sometimes for fun or if Iβm being silly ) I donβt spend hours editing scars, or blemishes, I donβt look in the mirror anymore and cry at the women looking back at me. Iβm in my peace era β this is for sureβ¦but please donβt think for a single second that I got here overnight because I didnβt.
Having confidence in my body took work, alongside a lot of ups and downs, and years of teaching myself and learning how to love my body in its natural state. From years of chemically straightening my hair, to chopping it off, and allowing it to grow back, curly and wildβ¦ to removing my toxic breast implants, and showing up in the world as meβ¦all of me as I was created.
After breastfeeding and placing third place in a bikini fitness competition, I felt the need to go & get implants. My insecurity was at an all time low.
If I could tell my younger self something, it would be: I love you Chels, I forgive you, and life gets really really good β you fall in love with who you are, you shine bright, you are loved, you have two daughters that look up to you and think the world of you.
I have zero regrets about this when I look back because the experiences have made me who I am today. Along the way, I have helped save the lives of so many beautiful women. I truly consider my journey to be a blessing that I will forever be in gratitude for.
For years I experienced extreme self doubt, fatigue, unexplained rashes, headaches, anexity, muscle pain and brain fog. Today, I am healthy, well, grateful & feeling better then ever. I am living in my purpose, I am living in peace, & I continue to surrender & trust this wildly beautiful life.
I thank my team of earth angels for their knowledge, talent, love and care. @dee.hicks_explant_liaison @davidrankinmd

My Story
#repost β’ @thejordymethod
For me I knew SOMETHING was off about 3 years into having themβ¦
I got them because I wanted them and I was in the competition world (most women have them)
I slowly started to lose my strength in the gym & quickly had so many symptoms that were unexplainable (too many to count)
I had an intuition it was my implants (foreign object) in my body causing most of it if not all. But I wanted to wait until after my first pregnancy to get them out.
By the grace of God I was blessed with twin babies & when they were 6 months old I passed out in the shower & hit my head on the wall..
That was my last straw to call @davidrankinmd & make an appointment ! He was booked 18 months out so I booked it praying on a cancellation π«
I called every single week, messaged his staff and was relentless on trying to get in because I legit was suffering so bad.
Finally got a call back saying they could get me in the next week π₯Ή
After getting them out I felt like I had a new lease on life and could be the mother I wanted to be with more energy ππΌππΌππΌπ
If I wouldnβt have gotten in until my original appointment I would have JUST got them out about a month agoβ¦ I wonder if I would have made it π₯Ή
Praise @davidrankinmd , @dee.hicks_explant_liaison & praise the good Lord ππΌ
I always say this HOWEVER this is my story and I share it because I know there are others just like me too. But I do know everyone isnβt effected the same π
