Always exciting when you turn your Maradona into the game winner! Way to go Nathan Fernandez and my whole 2013 KCL North Rebels! Starting the spring season off on the right foot... or left foot in Nathan's case.

I have had the privilege of Coaching this young man for about a year and a half. The amount of growth I have seen from him as a player and a leader is incredible and hard to put into words. When Brody first began playing for me, he was a quiet and timid kid that seemed like he was happy with the ball on the other side of the field. Seeing his confidence grow and be a player that doesn’t just want the ball, but demands to have the ball because he knows what he is capable of. But what impressed me the most on this goal, was his knowledge that we were still down a goal with limited time left; and he stops mid-celebration and runs back picks the ball up and places it in the middle and gets his team back ready to play. It’s not always about results, it’s about the bonds you make with your team. The smiles and friendships that these boys have created over the past year is worth more than any trophy they could possibly win. This is one of my favorite moments from this past weekend, and probably for the whole year; and it has nothing to do with the play on the field.

This player of the week Rules 🤘Luke has redefined versatile in the way he takes simple skills and uses them in some of the most creative ways. Always humble, crediting coach Andrew Vorce for his mastery, Luke's bold skills open the field for some incredible plays. Growing up in the Legends program his confidence on the ball is unmatched. When asked if the Legends Soccer Club philosophy works, Luke is a golden example of how well it works. Grateful to have him dual rostered on this team and proud of the effort he's shown throughout the year. He is a brave and creative leader #kcsoccer #howtobealegend

🚨Player of the week🚨 This week's highlight is #15 Elijah. Fierce attacks, smooth skills, and graceful touches, this week he took every opportunity to be creative and invent space to attack. His passion and dedication for the sport shine through and really elevated his game this week. When asked what his favorite part of playing for Legends Soccer Club he said "I really like my teammates", and his favorite thing about soccer is "getting to play" (like it wasn't obvious, we should've known). Below is him and his new 3v3 tournament teammate Jameson, both compared to a young Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Kaká. As a bonus, Elijah and Jameson were the winners of tonight's world cup trivia.
