The City of Belton and the Public Arts Commission are looking for talented artists to conceptualize and create a permanent mural along a Parks & Recreation trail in our community. This trail runs under Interstate 49 and connects east Belton and the High Blue Recreation Center/Waterpark with the rest of our community.

We have something extra special for ya KC!
We're combining efforts with Deep Rooted Clothing Company to create the ultimate SMALL BIZZ MASHUP!!

Deep Rooted, a local apparel company owned and operated by Donnell Jamison, has an inspiring story to tell.

"Several years ago, Jamison was on the streets, dealing drugs. He never served jail time, but he finally realized he needed to turn his life around. The problem was, he had no idea what would come next.

With no legitimate work history or practical skills, he was forced to work odd jobs to bring in a legal income. Instead of falling back into his old ways, Jamison began to plant the seeds which would turn into one of the Kansas City urban core’s most recognizable and celebrated clothing lines. Jamison's brick n' mortar location, at 1112 E. 47th Terrace, is a physical representation of his life-changing journey.

“I was in the streets over half my life,” says Jamison. “I prayed to God for something better and I swore I would leave hustling alone. He ended up giving me clothing.”

In 2016, the Kansas City native began transitioning from a reformed criminal into a clothing designer. For the first time in his life, Jamison found a passion. He studied urban fashion history and drew on his own experience with street culture, hoping to shift the narrative of Black men as consumers to Black men as creators."

Donnell is now helping other small business entrepreneurs get their start with local pop-up markets in KC!

This SUNDAY ONLY we are hosting over 100 local artists, makers and creatives TOGETHER featuring handmade home/body products, fine art, decor, jewelry & custom clothing ♥️ We encourage the public to share this event and join us in the celebration of community & supporting local!!

Free for all & family friendly!
🎵 We'll have live music with house band Shela & The Hot Toms and open jams on the community stage. Sign up anytime!
🎉 Bounce houses & kid's activities provided by Rooted Deep and friends!
🌯 Food trucks, ice cream, snowcones & more!

Rain or shine 🌤 Bring an umbrella just in case! Lawn chairs, hammocks, blankets encouraged.
