Today would have been Louis Campagna birthday. Louis "Little New York" Campagna (March 31, 1900 – May 30, 1955) was an American gangster and mobster and a high-ranking member of the Chicago Outfit for over three decades. In 1919, New York mobster Al Capone moved to Chicago to help South Side Gang boss John Torrio deal with rival bootleggers. After Campagna's release from the reformatory, Capone summoned him to Chicago to become his bodyguard. In the long bloody war with the rival North Side Gang, Campagna proved to be a reliable gunman. During this violent period, Campagna reportedly slept on a cot outside Capone's suite at Chicago's Lexington Hotel, ready to protect his boss. Campagna also worked with fellow Sicilian Frankie LaPorte, the Chicago Heights boss, and was believed to be Capone's boss who reported back to the Commission for Chicago.

TODAY would have been Gus Winklers birthday. Gus Winkler (March 28, 1901 – October 9, 1933) was an American gangster who headed a Prohibition-era criminal gang specializing in armed robbery and murder for hire with Fred "Killer" Burke.
Winkler was an associate of Chicago mob boss Al Capone and is considered a suspect in the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. In the summer of 1933, Gus Winkler was observed making visits to the Bankers Building office of FBI Special Agent in Charge Melvin Purvis. When the news reached him, Nitti was enraged. In reality, Winkler, who had been infuriated by the unnecessary violence of the Kansas City Massacre, was helping the FBI's manhunt for fugitive perpetrator Verne Miller. To Nitti, however, talking to the Feds about anything at all was a death penalty offense. On the afternoon of October 9, 1933, while entering the beer distribution office of Charles Weber at 1414 Roscoe Street, Winkler was hit by a number of shotgun blasts fired by unknown assailants hidden in the back of a green delivery truck. Winkler died a half-an-hour later after arriving at a local hospital.

In 1983, Nicolas Civella died and leadership of the organization passed to Carl "Corky" Civella, Anthony's father. Carl put Anthony in charge of running the organization's gambling interests, which included the Tropicana, Fremont, and Stardust casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1984, Anthony and Carl Civella were convicted of skimming casino profits from their Las Vegas casinos and Anthony received five years in prison. After his conviction, Carl passed control of the Kansas City organization to Anthony, who would run it from prison through acting boss William "Willie the Rat" Cammasino. In 2006 Anthony Civella passed away of cardiac problems while golfing in Arizona.

born February 12, 1913 was a New York City mobster and boss of the Lucchese crime family. Underboss Tommy Lucchese recruited Corallo to work with mobster Johnny Dio, the leader of labor racketeering operations in the Manhattan Garment District. On November 19, 1986, Corallo and the other defendants were convicted on several racketeering charges. On January 13, 1987, Corallo was sentenced to 100 years in prison and fined $240,000.

Buchalter was one of the premier labor racketeers in New York City during that era. Louis Buchalter was executed using the infamous "Old Sparky" electric chair after being sent "up the river" to Sing Sing Correctional Facility.

He operated in the West and Central states, and his criminal exploits gained widespread press coverage in the 1930s. He was pursued and killed by a group of Bureau of Investigation (BOI) agents led by Melvin Purvis. Pretty Boy Floyds biggest talked about event was his involvement in the Union Station Massacre. Floyd and Adam Richetti became the primary suspects in a gunfight known as the Union Satiation Massacre on June 17, 1933 which resulted in the deaths of four law enforcement officers. The gunfight was an attack by Vernon Miller and accomplices on lawmen escorting robber Frank "Jelly" Nash to a car parked at the Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas City detectives William Grooms and Frank Hermanson, Oklahoma police chief Otto Reed and special agent Ray Caffrey were killed. Nash was also killed while sitting in the car, shot in the head by his would-be rescuers. Floyd and Richetti were allegedly Miller's accomplices. Kansas City police received a postcard dated June 30, 1933 from Springfield, Missouri which read: "Dear Sirs - I - Charles Floyd - want it made known that I did not participate in the massacre of officers at Kansas City. Charles Floyd".

Born February 1, 1925 was a New Jersey mobster and member of the DeCavalcante crime family since the 1940s, before the family had acquired its name. Riggi was the leader of the "Elizabeth crew" in the family when he was a Caporegime. He had been the acting boss during the 1970s and became the official boss around 1980. Riggi was incarcerated at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Devens, Massachusetts, on extortion and labor racketeering convictions. He was released November 27 2012, and lived in Edison New Jersey, where he passed away at the age of 90.

TODAY WOULD HAVE BEEN William Bentvena Birthday. Also known as William "Billy Batts" and William Devino. William was a New York mobster with the Gambino crime family who was a longtime friend of John Gotti in the 1960s. After spending six years in prison, William was murdered by the mobster Tommy DeSimone, with the help of his associates Jimmy Burke and Henry Hill.
