Troop 60 just before they hit the road for Bartle Camp Tuesday am. Who’s heading down for Family Day on Sunday?

Troop 60 visited the World War 1 Museum on Saturday. A Memorial Day weekend was a good time to reflect on the horrors of that war, particularly the trench fighting on the Western Front that took so many young lives. When the U.S. entered that war in 1917, Missouri sent 128,544 of its young men to fight, 8th most in the country.

In front of the museum a display of flags calls attention to the epidemic of suicides by veterans, reminding us of the toll war takes even after the fighting is over.

Outside the museum the Scouts learned about the varieties of trucks, motorcycles, amphibious vehicles, and jeeps used in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam displayed by local enthusiasts.

Saturday we joined Pack 25 in collecting trash in Swope Park for Project Blue River Rescue.

It’s a lovely day & our scout troop is slinging hot dogs and cokes for our annual fundraiser at the Greaserama car show at the Platte County fairgrounds. Come on by & say hello and check out the classic American steel in all forms — from rat rods to the lovingly restored and all things between.

Friday 4p-10p and Saturday 9a-8p We'll be out selling concessions at the Greaserama car show at the Platte County Fairgrounds in Platte City. Please come by for hot dogs, ice cream, and see some cool old cars and car creations!

The troop headed down to the annual Scout camp yesterday after days of preparation: making sure they packed everything they need, loading leaders’ pickups, and traveling south in a caravan to spend 10 days at Bartle. Here’s the crew! Have a great time guys…we’ll see you Saturday for family day.

Our most recent Court of Honor included the addition of 2 new Scouts to our Troop and awarding many merit badges earned over the year.

Joined Cub Scout Pack 25 in celebrating their Graduation Ceremony and welcoming Isaac to the troop after earning his Arrow of Light and crossing over from Cub Scouts.

Joined the Blue River Cleanup on Saturday to cleanup trash near Lake of the Woods in Swope Park
