The Strategic Partnership Program helped Daniel dive deeper in understanding the grit it takes to have a thriving business in the construction industry. The SPP has not only helped him grow, but it has also helped Axiom grow. It is with great joy that we continue to better our community and make a difference in the industry.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Clark’s Strategic Partnership Program (SPP), we’re highlighting just 15 of the 1,200+ small and diverse business owners and leaders who make up the SPP alumni network!

Meet Dan Felder, CEO of Axiom Construction Group KC , a self-perform concrete contractor based in Kansas City. While working as an educator more than a decade ago, Dan decided to pursue his interest in construction in his spare time. After successfully completing a small concrete project for Kansas City’s Housing Authority, he fell in love with the industry, and was determined by the growth potential.

Like any entrepreneur, Dan was fueled by the idea of building a company that embodies his values and creates a legacy for his family in a city where he was born and raised. In the early days, he leveraged those deep ties within the city to build a client roster and in 2016 partnered with industry veteran Vince Stephens to launch Axiom Construction. To help take the company to the next level, Daniel applied to the Kansas City Strategic Partnership program.

Today, Axiom Construction is playing a key role in delivering the Kansas City International Airport’s New Terminal – the largest single infrastructure project in the city’s history. The company has performed multiple scopes of work including new roadway construction and structural foundations for the parking garage and new terminal. They have, in aggregate, $14 million of work on the project. “Ultimately, SPP provided a more in-depth understanding of what it means to run a successful company in this industry,” he said.

Armed with a clear vision of success for Axiom’s future, Dan is equally committed to his role as a community leader, developing opportunities for others, and demonstrating a business model that inspires other local entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams.

We are grateful that we had the wonderful opportunity to provide 40 families with Thanksgiving meals! Special thanks to the contribution of our partners for helping to make this day a success. This is not only our culture, but it is !

Happy "What's Going On" Wednesday! A few days ago we happily announced that we received a 2021 Excellence in Concrete Award from the Concrete Promotional Group of Greater Kansas City for our contribution to the Starlight Theatre ADA renovation.

Well, Kissick Construction Company, Inc. delivered our award and our CEO, Daniel (left) and President, Vince (right) had to snap a pic with it. We were only one piece of the bigger picture to this project - congratulations to all the other 2021 CPG Excellence in Concrete Award winners!

Happy (What's Going On) Wednesday! The Kansas City Zoo is undergoing construction for their aquarium, which is expected to be completed in 2023. We are glad that JE Dunn Construction asked us to contribute to this project!

As of 10/18, Axiom is proud to inform you that we have finished all of the base foundation for this project! We can't wait to see the final outcome of the aquarium - but until then here are some pics 📸

On August 19th, our partner JE Dunn Construction invited us to Manual Career and Technical Center to inform the community about careers in as well as address the known barriers within this field. It was a pleasure to bring awareness, insight and opportunity to those who attended.
