DRAW Architecture + Urban Design, LLC
Empathy + Activism
We design inspired, authentic places for people to gather and connect. www.drawarch.com
Congratulations to Jenny Morrill on her promotion to Associate!
Jenny comes to DRAW from Kansas State University, where she earned a Master of Architecture degree. She regards architecture as an opportunity for collaboration and community building. She is committed to understanding a project “beyond the numbers” and seeks to find meaning within the structure. She understands the importance of dialogue throughout the design process, highlighting the necessity of communication. With a knack for site visualization and writing, narratives and client presentations are a specialty.
We were a finalist for Renovation Project of the Year for the 2024 Builder’s Excellence Awards for our renovation project at The New Reform Temple! Thank you to the whole project team for contributing to this successful project, and thank you to The Builders AGC!
DRAW Architecture + Urban Design, LLC
Multifamily is where we live!
Stunning exteriors, efficient interiors, amenities, and connections to the neighborhood are part of our formula for fantastic, safe, and community-oriented multifamily design.
Still Flying High!
DRAW is proud to have been part of a national team of consultants designing the new one-million-square-foot LEED Gold Terminal for The Kansas City International Airport (KCI). Led by architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), the terminal expanded the existing original 1972 airport’s capacities with 39 new gates, retail space, and outdoor waiting areas.
Home Sweet Home
The essential architectural structure is a home. It is the stronghold in which we are safeguarded and fostered.
Here are some of the homes DRAW envisioned.
DRAW is working with the City of Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department to revitalize a neighborhood park by adding a skate facility. The design includes a sound system and music-responsive lights that the community users can access for a custom skate experience. The site design provides flood control, parking, a water fountain, a gender-neutral restroom, and bleachers to complete the scene.
The historic park is the former ballpark site for the Kansas City Blues baseball team. The Blues were soundly beaten by the famed Kansas City Monarchs at this field many times, and the park holds meaningful historic value because of the significance of the wins. The park may soon host Historical markers celebrating the original usage of the site and the inter-league games between the Blues and the Monarchs.
EMPATHY + ACTIVISM DRIVE OUR RADICALLY RESOURCEFUL PROCESS
Our Radically Resourceful approach is the foundation of our services. Being resourceful means holistically integrating viable, sustainability and wellness design strategies from the very start of the design process. We empathetically listen deeply to your needs, distilling & documenting the project & sustainability goals, endeavoring to understand your story, mission, & vision. We connect on a deep level, acting boldly on your behalf. We engage the community, promoting equity & quality of life. Rigorous research & our iterative process produce an innovative, sustainable scheme that focuses on long-term operational savings & design excellence. Our persistent responsiveness & follow-through ensure that we reveal creative opportunities within the realities of time & budget.
INTEGRATED SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is “baked in” to our design process. The parameters of client needs are reviewed and integrated into our sustainable designs, material selection, and fixture specification. A DRAW building is fundamentally a resilient, sustainable building.
INTEGRATED WELLNESS
Within the framework of POSITIVE IMPACT DESIGN, the wellness of our spaces’ occupants plays a vital role. We use a holistic path to wellness that makes a synergistic bond with our elevated sustainability measures, allowing us to create spaces & places that sustain & advance health & well-being.

Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s beloved winter home and desert laboratory, was established in 1937 and diligently handcrafted over many years. Deeply connected to the desert from which it was forged, it was built and maintained almost entirely by Wright and his apprentices, making it among the most personal of the architect’s creations.

The Fisher Fine Arts Library was the primary library of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia from 1891 to 1962. The red sandstone, brick-and-terra-cotta Venetian Gothic giant, part fortress and part cathedral, was designed by Philadelphia architect Frank Furness (1839–1912).

33 Thomas Street (formerly the AT&T Long Lines Building) is a 550-foot-tall windowless skyscraper in the Tribeca neighborhood of Lower Manhattan. Standing on the east side of Church Street, between Thomas Street and Worth Street, this telephone exchange building remains a brutalist masterpiece.

In celebration of Architecture Week, we recognize Centre Pompidou as a building that has illuminated DRAW founder and Managing Principal Dominique Davison for years.
Since 1977, the Centre Pompidou building, a glass and metal structure bathed in light, has been in the center of Paris. It resembles a heart fed by monumental arteries in bright primary colors. Its two architects, Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, envisioned it as a living organism. The building is also built in the Beaubourg plateau, one of the capital’s oldest districts and the beating heart of Paris since Medieval times, a place steeped in history and culture.

MIZA: MAKE and SEAF is part of a master plan forming a distinctive mixed-use urban innovation hub at Mina Zayed. The plan utilizes warehouse structures and works with the existing urban grain and architecture to establish MIZA as Abu Dhabi’s Design, Art, and Technology District.

These nine free-standing homes are dedicated to LGBTQ+ adults and families facing homelessness. Residents will be enrolled in the Lion House program, which includes case management, resources, life skills training, and housing. These wrap-around services are essential due to the destabilizing nature of homelessness and its impacts on health, mental health, and ability to self-sustain.
