Help needed!

Jane Christison fell on Memorial Day and broke four bones in her left foot as well as one of the bones in her left ankle. She is able to drive, but will be in an AIRCAST boot and non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks and needs help carrying her accordion to her performances. Her accordion weighs about 42 pounds in the case. She has performances scheduled almost every day during June and July.

If you or perhaps a student who's on summer break from school could help her by carrying the accordion, she would really appreciate the help.

E-mail her at [email protected] to volunteer!

Several SAI's attended the Celebration of Life Service for Carolyn Holtman today. See the photo of the group. Many of us sang, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You," at the conclusion of the SAI Memorial Service, which was near the end of the service. Karen Puckett presented the SAI Memorial Service and I provided the section on Carolyn's involvement in SAI. Pam Pendergast placed the rose on the altar during the SAI Memorial Service. It was wonderful spending some time remembering all of the wonderful times we had with Carolyn at her home during monthly Exec. Board meetings and other SAI meetings and gatherings that were held at her home and during our annual Christmas concerts at Lakeview Village. Carolyn served as the Chair. of the Committee to organize at least one (maybe more) of our dinner theater fundraisers. We're thankful to have all of the wonderful memories of times that we spent with her!

Cardinal Keyboard Day Registration 01/12/2024

Deadline to register is Jan. 12, 2024.
You and your students are invited to attend William Jewell College's 3rd annual Cardinal Keyboard Day: Making a Living as a Collaborative Pianist on January 20th, 2024. Please share this with others.
This free event is offered by the William Jewell College keyboard faculty, comprised of Dr. Ann Marie Rigler, Dr. Tracey Johnson, and Dr. Jessica Koebbe.
To register, go to: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdzaStgmwY2dD7uMSA-PkLnv3Ot_EIO9GJkXJsBt95_lHgGhA/viewform
As you may know, there is a shortage of collaborative pianists in many areas of the country and we wish to empower high school pianists (and their parents) with the knowledge that it is possible to make a living as a collaborative pianist. This event will provide pianists with an introduction to skills they can begin developing in high school to position themselves as marketable candidates for college collaborative programs and collaborative piano jobs.
Cardinal Keyboard Day will offer participants opportunities to perform in a masterclass, hear from Gail Hintz (manager and pianist of the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, pianist for the Metropolitan Opera Regional Auditions, and co-founder of the Ozark Actors Theatre), and participate in a panel discussion hosted by WJC faculty about practical ways to further their skills in order to make themselves marketable as future collaborative pianists, whether they choose to do that professionally or at an amateur level.
We welcome all piano teachers, students, and parents to this free event.
The deadline to register is January 12, 2024.
