Martae started as an intern at Sleepyhead Beds in May from The Full Employment Council and we are thrilled to announce that he's officially on Team Sleepyhead!

Martae is part of the route crew that picks-up beds so we can offer them to families in need. We are so excited to have him! Welcome Martae.

Sometimes when bedding is donated, we only receive a flat sheet. We are in need of fitted queen sheets and we've recently added them to our Amazon Wishlist. We also have about 100 families on our waitlist that still need a crib mattress. These can be gently used or brand new!

A huge thank you to one of our corporate partners, Rosnet. Over the past few years, their staff has volunteered to help us bundle bedding and distribute mattresses to KC kids. Sleepyhead Beds appreciates their support and can't imagine our mission without them!

The next chapter for Sleepyhead Beds will begin with J Stuart Hoffman transitioning from Program Manager to Executive Director. We got lucky in December when Stu returned to the nonprofit world after a brief retirement by overseeing the bed donor side of our program. Stu has had a diverse and outstanding career in the nonprofit sector, with his most recent role as Executive Director at Charlie's House. "I am excited to expand my role with Sleepyhead Beds. My passion for supporting income-challenged children and families and my commitment to reducing and reusing items to keep them out of landfills makes this a perfect fit," says Hoffman. "We are building a model program that can be duplicated in other communities."

We are confident that Stu's experience and leadership will guide Sleepyhead Beds to new heights as we continue our mission of providing sweet dreams to KC kids. We are grateful to have him in this new role and look forward to the future under his direction.

We thank Gayle Terry Holmes for her leadership as Executive Director since November 2019. She is an important part of the Sleepyhead Beds story, providing leadership and direction during a time of growth, challenges, and success. We wish her well in her retirement.

Nearly 70 families received their beds on Friday - loaded with love from our Rosnet volunteers. Almost all of the bedding shared was donated by Rosnet - they are spectacular at working hard to tuck in KC kids.

We completed our annual spring collection of gently used beds from the residents of Prairie Village. We are grateful to the City of Prairie Village Government for this partnership. Feels good to know all those beds are now in a new families' home and providing big dreams to KC kids.

We had an absolute blast at the Manchester Park Elementary Carnival and we were so grateful to be their beneficiary!

We know we couldn't support other mom's without your help and we are so grateful.
