The game started out with thirty-four players on six teams, but two teams added a player each just after halftime, so we ended up with thirty-six players. At halftime, "Hamma Thyme," a quintet old the old guard players, had the lead with 580 points. "Catalina Breeze," a quartet which became a quintet after the start of the second round, was in second place with 570. "You're Kollege Sux," which started out as a team of eight and grew to a squad of nine after the break, was in third place with 510. Fourth place belonged to the seven-person "No Fun Allowed," back in the taproom for the first time in a long time, with 500 points. "Surprise, Surprise," a quintet this week with a couple of younger players on hand, was in fifth place with 470. "Team Ramrod," also a squad of five, was in sixth place with 460. So, 120 points separated the six squads at halftime.

The second round saw "Catalina Breeze" make its usual run to take the lead, finishing regulation in first place with 1730 points. "You're Kollege Sux'" moved up to second place with 1430 points. A Poem in Praise of People Who Attend Meetings

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears,
We all owe a debt which is in arrears.
Some people among us deserve acclaim,
But never get it, and that’s a damned shame.
These are the people who show up for meetings
And are masters at agenda completing
Without these angels no work would get done
They selflessly take care of everyone.
While we all go home to sit on our couches
They organize us without being grouches
We're at home lounging in our boxer shorts
They’re listening to committee reports.
They make decisions and put them in minutes
It’s an outstanding board that we have, innit?
They never ask for a standing ovation,
But they deserve our true appreciation.

Interested in learning more about this group? Come check out ! Next week, on July24, we will be back at our beloved Waldo Pizza! 5:15 for fellowship; meeting at 5:30; finish at 6:30. Join us!

None of the seven teams answered the final question correctly, so it all came down to the wagers. "Hamma Thyme" bet 389 points to finish in first place with 1091, good for $92 in cash. "Yer Colidge Sox" continued its successful month of June by wagering 1 point, thus finishing with 1089 and taking home $60 for second place.

Thanks to all who ventured out in the dreadful heat and humidity to play Trivia Riot and we'll see you in July.
