Been crazy busy with all the rain and abundant sunshine the mowing never ends, just when I think I’m finished and turn around to see where I started needs mowed again. Went and helped my aunt and uncle repair their lawn mower two days ago, replaced front brake pads on my brothers Explorer, the neighbors husqvarna with 22 hp briggs & stratton only has compression on one cylinder and about to replace an engine in a customers 09 suburban just to name a few projects. 2003 Cadilac Escalade EXT 6.0L. These engines are notorious for the rear engine cover gasket leaking where it mates with the rear of the oil pan. May think it’s the valve covers or oil sending unit or even crank sensor. Gotta drop the transmission to verify. Don’t buy a new rear main seal, get a whole new rear cover with gasket and hardware and already has rear main seal installed.

7 Signs Your Head Gasket Is Blown.

4 cylinder and inline engines only have 1 head gasket while all V6’s & V8 engines have 2. The head gasket typically made of thin metal seals the block and head when they are bolted together. Water ports and passages surround each cylinder, the water pump forces coolant (antifreeze/water mixture) through the passages after the thermostat opens to help cool the engine from the intense heat generated by the combustion process. When the head gasket fails coolant can leak out of the engine but more often leak into the cylinder where it will be burnt with the gas/air mixture giving the exhaust a sweet smell and white smoke. You will not see any coolant drips or puddles under the car and the level in the radiator/overflow tank keeps dropping. When the leak becomes excessive the cylinder will have too much coolant for the combustion process to occur causing a dead cylinder or misfire and leak past the piston rings contaminating the oil giving it a milkshake appearance.

2017 Chrysler 300C 3.6L major oil leak from plastic oil filter housing. Very common issue that Chrysler has known about yet refuses to issue a recall. If this happens to you I would suggest the Doreman all aluminum replacement.
