Happy New Year everyone! As I bid farewell to the past and usher in the new, I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you - Cheryl Eve Acosta Sculptural/Jewelry is embracing a fresh start in 2024 and moving into a new location! This February, I am transitioning into a new studio at The Bauer, located at 115 West 18th St. Kansas City, MO, two blocks from my current studio. This historic warehouse, in the Kansas City, Crossroads happens to be where I had my first studio when I moved to KC 14 years ago!

In the meantime, my jewelry storefront will remain open by appointments for Valentine’s in-person shopping until further notice. Made-to-order items and website purchases will resume after the studio move, hopefully by the end of February / early March. I look forward to welcoming you to my new location, which features additional artist studios, galleries, retail shops, and an event space. I wish you all a great start to the year!

You are not one to blend in with the crowd…

It’s inspiring to see fearless women embrace the extraordinary, who use fashion as a form of self-expression, and who remind us that art knows no limits. One of the reasons I enjoy events like the yearly Met Gala is that artists and designers like myself have the opportunity redefine the boundaries of style and think outside the box. This sculptural jewelry I made called VITA is an extension of a bold spirit, who amplifies her presence, leaving a lasting impression. The dress represents the sand and the necklace is the living algae found at sea.

DM me for custom designs.

It’s said that life began billions of years ago when bacterias were able to produce energy from the sun.

This necklace I made is called VITA, Latin for life. The hand pierced sculptural collar is inspired by algae/kelp found in our oceans. Like trees, these marine life-forms provide the oxygen that we so much need to be alive. As the Cycle of Life continues from its birth stage, the coral-like copper jewel is hammered into a spiral shape expanding outwards surviving amidst ocean currents.

This necklace along with few of other jewelry pieces is a part of a group exhibit called Elemental: Interpretations in Metal at the  in Wichita, Kansas. The show highlights twelve unique and brilliant metalsmithing artists from Kansas and the Midwest Region. The collective of metalsmith artists embodies a culmination of elemental processes, materials, and concepts in their work. Through the manipulation of metals, the body adornment, hollowware, and sculpture exhibited represent diversity in expression and beauty.

On 1/11/23 from 6-7pm artist and curator Sydney Pener will have a special talk about the exhibit.

One flower at a time before my art installation blooms into shape. 🌸🍃

Photos from Cheryl Eve Designs's post 04/15/2022

There is always something so refreshing about the revival of spring! 🌸🌿 The shear pink flowy dress, the picturesque bouquet, and the rose petal jewelry takes me back into fancying a sunny stroll in a beautiful flower garden. 🌷🍃

In the last 5 months, I have been very in-tuned with the color pink. Perhaps it’s because during this time, I have been working on the construction of a floral wall installation for or perhaps rose color provides a sense of harmony, inner peace, and approachability that relishes the soul. 💖

This photoshoot was done by an amazing and talented group back in 2019. My jewelry includes my signature Oyster ring and the petal looking Conch earrings. These two have been an all time favorite for those wishing to surprise their mothers with a unique and special Mother’s Day gift.
Wishing you all a happy spring! 🌷🍃✨

Back in 2009, I came across the book “Read My Pins” written by Madeleine Korbel Albright and I was immediately inspired by how one woman's jewelry collection was used to make diplomatic history. Later in 2014, a dream became a reality. I had the unique opportunity to have been selected to custom design a brooch for the first female US Secretary of State. , formerly the Greater Kansas City Women's Foundation invited Madeline Albright as a featured guest for their annual luncheon. During her visit to Kansas City, she was gifted with this one of a kind brooch that UNITED WE commissioned me to especially design for Albright, known for her fashionable and diplomatic use of pins.

I created the Albright brooch as a symbolism for the cycle of life. The pin embodies her vivacity, evolution, and perpetuity; an emblem of longevity to be passed on to her three daughters. The jewel depicts an oasis-like basin, emitting three gold and silver algae/plants, spiraling around from a blue glass enameled water pod. These three river-like plants represent Albright’s daughters while Madeleine is the source that nourishes them. In a metaphorical level, the basin references her inner soul with the spiral branches flourishing and connecting her daughters to the world.

Madeline was a courageous leader who stood up for what she believed in and through her illustrious career and collection of pins, her legacy will live on. RIP.
