We are excited to announce that we will begin recording new episodes for both Mysterious Goings On and PR After Hours starting September 14th.
Please note that recording slots are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. While we would love to open up additional dates, we are currently unable to do so.
We will record one Saturday each month, with sessions scheduled for Saturdays 9-noon (Central Time) for the foreseeable future.
Our next recording sessions for both shows are on September 14th and October 12th at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m.
We will try to set up TWO recording dates in November and will likely have a date in early December.
To ensure a good fit, we kindly ask that you carefully review our profiles on MatchMaker.fm before pitching yourself or a client. We will not be able to respond to off-topic pitches for either show.
Please tell us three dates and times you request in order of preference. We will do our best to accommodate.
We now use Riverside Studio, so video will be on during the session, and may be used on our feed.
---> We are offering something new: For a $50 fee, paid in advance via Venmo or Paypal, our Priority Appearance option guarantees your recording session during our early Saturday afternoon time slot between 12:30-2 p.m. Central. If that time isn't convenient, we'll work with you to find a better fit.
Additionally, Priority Appearance option guests receive the video and audio of their appearance before the episode is posted. Just let me know if you are interested.
Thank you for your interest in being a guest on our podcasts. We look forward to the possibility of introducing you (or your client) to our thousands of listeners soon.

Part of my hesitance to be a team guy probably stems from my early career as a journalist. Reporters aren’t team players–at least they weren’t in the newsrooms I haunted. When I moved from journalism to , my early jobs were at companies where I was basically a one-man shop.
That changed as my career progressed, but old habits die hard. Even when I had staff and team members to work with I had a tough time letting go of some things. That may also have had something to do with my ego, too.

“No man but a blockhead expects to make money podcasting.” — Alex Greenwood
In recent years, podcasting has emerged as the medium du jour, touted as a gold rush for content creators and businesses looking to cash in on the on-demand audio revolution.
Amidst stories of celebrities signing multi-million-dollar podcast deals (many of which have cratered — just ask Harry and Meghan) and niche creators finding their tribes (and considerable profits), there’s a pervasive belief that podcasting is a lucrative venture open to anyone with a microphone and a story to tell.
However, the reality is far more complex and sadly less promising, especially for those solely looking to make money.
Take it from me. I’ve been doing this since 2006. Here’s why may not be the best path for everyone.
The Myth of Easy Money in Podcasting Why It’s Not the Right Path for Everyone
The United States of America was great, is great, and will continue to be great if we don’t lose faith in our ideals and each other.
Many sources compete for attention online, including partisan blogs and bogus sites posing as legitimate news organizations. It can be tough to know what information to trust.
So what does “credibility” look like, and how can you recognize it?

Alex highlights the importance of embracing the Stoic philosophy of focusing on what can be controlled and cutting out excessive news and political consumption. It emphasizes the need to recognize and avoid clickbait and misinformation, and the responsibility of individuals in stopping the spread of false information.
