On Saturday, June 24th, the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission (KCMCC) hosted the 17th Annual Guns N Hoses charity boxing event at the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium.

This event pairs our area’s finest Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Paramedics to compete in sanctioned boxing matches that celebrate the strength, dedication and loyalty of these amazing men and women. The Guns N Hoses event benefits the programs of the KCMCC, primarily the Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund (SAFE).

This year’s event was emceed by Mick Shaffer from KSHB 41, and SSJ - Steven St.John from Sports Radio 810 WHB and has grown into the largest fundraiser for the Crime Commission’s SAFE program. We are proud and honored to share that our SAFE family benefits have increased from $3,000 when we began in 2005 to $25,000 today, thanks in part to events like this and all of our dedicated boxers, volunteers and patrons.
