Over the last year, the UA has partnered with the MCAA to distribute 988 awareness hard hat stickers and chips highlighting the 988 National Su***de and Crisis Lifeline. Both items include the UA and MCAA logos. UA members can order from UAStore.org.

In September, we recognize Su***de Prevention Month. The construction industry faces a crisis, with a su***de rate 4x higher than the general population. Let's band together for change.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Brandon Gardner’s outstanding achievement of making it to the international welding competition in Ann Arbor last week! Before heading to the Nationals, Brandon won the state competition in Madison, then went on to win the district competition in Des Moine, Iowa. His hard work, skill, and dedication have truly paid off, and it was inspiring to see his talent shine on such a big stage. From mastering complex techniques to showcasing incredible precision, he has proven that excellence is in the details.

Brandon - We’re all so proud of you and can’t wait to see where your passion for welding takes you next! Here’s to many more successes and milestones in your future. Keep on welding and making us all proud!

It’s an exciting time to be a pipe fabricator. The industry is expecting a 22 percent job growth over the next decade and UA 400 fabricators are in high demand. The UA 400 Fabricator Apprenticeship is a one-of-a-kind program with elite journey-level fabricators and a world-class training center. Apprentices do not pay any direct tuition. If you’re a steamfitter, pipefitter, rig welder, pipeline helper or other career pipe or vessel welder, you might wonder why you should check out a career in pipe fabrication. You’ve put in your time working in the field, and now we’ve got you covered. For many high school students, balancing education and fun is a top priority. Summer can be a productive time for gaining practical experience, learning by doing, and creating opportunities for future careers. The UA 400 Youth Apprentice Program provides foundational skills, knowledge, and experience in the trades. Through this program, high schoolers gain the confidence to succeed in their chosen trade. Making the right career choices is always difficult and the UA 400 Youth Apprentice Program provides ample information to help students make better choices. We’re on a mission to educate students to explore careers in the trades and much more!

Congratulations to Brandon Gardner, a 4th Year Apprentice here at Team with the UA Local 400 who recently won the 2024 State UA Welding Competition!
The competition included a written test and the performance of 5 different weld processes. Brandon will move on to the District Competition on June 10th.

Team recently completed a large sulfuric acid alloy pump tank for Elessent Clean Technologies. The tank was fabricated from two different alloys and subjected to radiographic weld examination to assure its integrity in a harsh service.

The finished project was nearly 21’ feet wide and required State Trooper escorts for safe delivery to site! Team’s engineering and craftsman did a great job producing a beautiful end product while meeting a tight schedule to support the owner’s small maintenance outage window.
