Just wanted to share a blog about a sweet sibling group in Ecuador. Adoption can be hard, but it can also be a calling. As Christians we need to make sure that we are listening to the calling that the Lord puts in our lives. This could be as simple as helping the lady in front of us with her groceries or helping a child by opening your home.
While in prison, Paul gave us these words…
“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called.”
May today be the day that we listen to our calling from our Lord.

Love celebrating adoption miracles… Learn more about with America World! It changed our life!
Meet the Buttner family! 😍 They have previously adopted from us through our India program and are now in the process of adopting a second time.
"Our family's story is about two stories colliding. The summer that my husband and I started conversations about pursuing adoption was the same summer that our daughter was born on the other side of the world. We didn't know her or her story or even learn about her existence for 18 months.
"But both of our stories were moving toward each other. We prepared and prayed, and she unknowingly waited. And then, on one unforgettable day after two and a half years, we came together. We became a family of three. All of our stories entered a new chapter, and it's one we are so incredibly thankful for!
"America World made having our daughter in our lives possible. They walked with us hand in hand through every step of bringing her into our family. Each stage of the process came with deep knowledge, understanding, and helpful advice from everyone that we encountered at the agency. And we wouldn't think of using anyone else as we begin our second adoption."
Happy Sunday friends!
We want to introduce another one of our Family Advocates at our NFW Campus! This is Sarah Calhoun! You will hopefully get to meet her at our upcoming Informational Meetings.
“Growing up I always felt the call that I needed to do more for the children in this world. I could not accept the fact that there are children out there that would never feel the love of an adult. Which is why when graduating from college with a degree in Social Work, I chose to work as an investigator for Child Protective Services. As an investigator and the one who brought children into foster care, I looked evil in the eye on many occasions. But more than anything, I saw Christ’s ultimate redemption played out in the lives of children.
Now I am blessed to work with a nonprofit as a Supervisor in Foster Care. I get to work with so many amazing foster families and love on all the little children. It is my mission and calling in life to show love to these children just as Christ loves us.”

We are so excited to share another one of our Family Advocates at the NFW campus, Jennifer Scoper! We hope you enjoy the picture that she wanted to share of her family, which was taken right after they adopted. We are so thankful to have Jen and her family at FOTP, and we hope you enjoy hearing more of her story below.
“My name is Jennifer Scoper and I am gracefully humbled to serve as a family advocate for the FOTP North Ft. Worth campus. My awareness of children in foster care began as a young pediatric nurse, where I took care of some of those children when they were hospitalized. Several years later when my husband, Scott and I were praying about growing our family after the birth of our son in 2005, followed by losses through miscarriage, we went to an informational meeting about foster care in 2007. As we navigated the process of becoming and later being licensed foster parents, we learned about the great needs of infants and youth in care. Over the span of 5 years we fostered and/or provided respite care for 14 precious children and were able to adopt a sibling group of girls in November of 2012.
Moving along on our family journey by way of adoption, we have traversed the milestones, bounced during the joyful times, meandered on the calm days, plodded through the dark days, and hobbled along during the broken times, always remembering our Heavenly Father’s divine planning to join Him in the good works He does, those repair works that he called us to do (Ephesians 2:10). So, in 2023, as we begin to empty our nest through the graduation of 2 high school seniors, and continue to guide our middle-schooler for her future launch, my husband and I seek to walk alongside and encourage other foster/adoptive families in their journeys.”
Make sure to join us this coming Sunday at the North Fort Worth campus after the service for a time of fellowship, food and learning more about getting involved with foster care and adoption. We will have a speaker from CK Family Services there to join us to talk more about their ministry!

We are so excited to be sharing with you individuals who are apart of the FOTP Family Advocates. Through the next few weeks we will be highlighting different family advocates from each campus. They will be able to share a little of their testimony and calling of what brought them to serve at FOTP!
We are excited to share our first Family Advocate, Christina Clack! She attends the Haslet campus with her family pictured here. Please feel free to say hey to her if you see her or stop in at our informational meeting this Sunday!
“My name is Christina Clack. My husband Robert and I felt God calling us to begin a foster/adoption journey in 2018. Just before Covid I was asked to be the family advocate for the Haslet campus. This opportunity was a God thing because it gave us something to focus on while we waiting for God to connect us with the child that would be our forever family.
On May 4, 2021, we received a call to be an emergency placement for two girls who were allegedly abused by their foster mom. Because these girls’ did amazing in our home we were asked to change our licensing from matched adoption to fostering so they could stay with us until they were reunified with their family. After they left, we decided that we wanted to foster with the hopes of adopting. We are hoping that one day our journey will lead us to adopting the child God has ordained for us. In the meantime, we look forward to continue being used by the Lord as He develops the FOTP Orphan Care ministry.”
