ELECTRONIC FORM 4 AVAILABLE
Did you purchase an NFA item and are still waiting to do your Form 4 to get the tax stamp?
We can now do the newly-authorized electronic Form 4 submissions at Bear Creek Fi****ms.
1. Please call to make a 30-minute appointment, and we will also explain the necessary step of establishing your own account with the ATF (required)
2. Bring your valid Texas DL or ID, as always.
3. We will take your picture here.
4. We will scan your fingerprints here.
5. You will enter your CC information for the $200 fee.
The process isn't old enough to have a track record of turnaround time for electronic submissions vs. paper submissions, but the ATF states that they have a 90-day turnaround short-term goal and they hope to decrease that to 30-day turnaround before too long.
BUT... As I said, there is no history to prove whether or not the ATF is anywhere near reality on their planned turnaround times.
Things that WILL NOT BREAK YOUR ARM:

And PLEASE put your darn phone number in there. The correct one. I am NOT going to stand on the roof and shout your name.

POOL CHEMICALS = DAMAGE
A brief caution on the storage of fi****ms (or any other metal objects of value) in close proximity to pool chemicals.
DO NOT store your valuable metal tools anywhere close to your pool chlorine nor acid.
Even if your guns are in a safe, a bucket of chlorine stored close by will rust your guns (in the safe) faster than you can believe.
We recently had a customer come in with two fi****ms that were 80% coated in rust/corrosion after only a month in a safe in the garage that had a closed bucket of pool pucks next to it.
The chlorine fumes WILL permeate the safe, your toolbox, your storage cabinet, etc. and corrode the living crap (scientific term) out of your valuable tools, which goes double for fi****ms.
The fumes from bottles of pool acid also have this effect.
I store my pool chemicals behind my shed in a separate box, which seems to have been enough separation.
A FEW ANSWERS FROM R***R REGARDING MARLIN
SEPTEMBER 1, 2021
As we get closer to the initial release of Marlin rifles from the Mayodan, NC plant, some questions are starting to be answered by Sturm, R***r & Co., Inc.:
While some items are still up in the air (in design & development) these three questions have been at least partially answered.
Question: Will the receivers be investment cast?
Answer: Marlin has always been machined from forgings and that won't change at R***r.
Question: Are you going to keep the Ballard & Microgroove rifling?
Answer: R***r is currently testing different rifling profiles however they are very good at making hammer-forged barrels with standard six-groove rifling. Regardless of the final answer, R***r's objective is to make accurate shooting fi****ms.
Question: Are you going to keep the post 1984 Cross Bolt Safety (CBS)?
Answer: It stays as designed.
While this won't answer everyone's questions it gives some brief insight into what to expect in the Marlin lineup from R***r. Same dependable receivers, same CBS and still up in the air about which rifling to expect. I'll hang my hat on their response that they will deliver an accurate shooting firearm at the end of the day!

REMINDER REMINDER REMINDER
Texas Hunting Licenses EXPIRE on August 31st.
New licenses for the coming year go on sale August 15th, and will be good from date of purchase until August 31st, 2022.
If you need to have a valid hunting license, this is your reminder to get that taken care of BEFORE THE END OF THIS MONTH. It's easy, and doesn't cost enough for you to bitch about, so nobody wants to hear it.
Go to the Texas Parks and Wildlife page to either buy your license online or to find a license retailer near you. (Not us, BTW...)
ALSO.... If you haven't taken Hunter Safety yet, get on that too.

Official Fishing & Hunting Licenses - Outdoor Annual Where to get licenses, types of licenses, tagging instructions and license requirements
Enough debates.
Just go out and get it already.
It protects you, your family and everyone in the community. It's been scientifically, mathematically and statistically proven to make everyone safer.
The communities that got them are overwhelmingly safer.
The chances of side effects or accidents are so unbelievably small that it's completely absurd to not get one already.
Quit being selfish, quit arguing online and go purchase a firearm.
U.S. judge overturns California´s ban on assault weapons Judge Roger Benitez agreed with plaintiffs' claim that the ban breached the Second Amendment right to bear arms, and that the rationale used to define what guns were assault rifles was faulty.
How, how, HOW do people STILL not know this?
We told you we'd get more. We did.
No limit.
As usual, InstaTwitFace rules mean we can't tell you the price here.
HOLLYWOOD AIN'T NECESSARILY THE TRUTH...
Especially when it comes to the topic of "Gun Registration".
We regularly get questions from customers on "How to transfer registration of Grampa's rifles to me..." or variations of that question.
What people don't seem to understand (because they watch too many seasons of "Law and Order: Preachy Liberals Unit" ) is that in the VAST MAJORITY of the U.S. there is NO SUCH THING AS GUN REGISTRATION.
There are only seven (7) jurisdictions that require fi****ms registration.
Only Hawaii and the District of Columbia require all fi****ms to be registered.
Others require only certain items to be registered.
New York: Hand guns and “Assault Weapons”
New Jersey: “Assault Weapons”
Connecticut: “Assault weapons” and “Large Capacity Magazines”
California: “Assault weapons” and .50 caliber rifles
Maryland: “Assault pistols” (defined by a list of makes/models of fi****ms and “any copycats”)
If you don’t live in any of the above jurisdictions, then your pistols, rifles, and shotguns are not registered with any state or local "fi****ms database", and there IS NO FEDERAL FI****MS DATABASE (except for NFA items).
The ONLY federal database is for the NFA items: Fully-automatic fi****ms, suppressors, short-barrelled rifles, short-barrelled shotguns, and destructive devices.
If you register the warranty on your new firearm, that's in the manufacturer's database, but that's as far as that goes, too.
AR facts from PJMedia for the next time you are in a discussion with another Quivering Liberal Anti-Gunner:
1. The AR stands for "Armalite Rifle" (not assault rifle) because the gun was developed by a company called “Armalite.”
2. It is not an “assault rifle”, whatever that is.
3. It’s not a machine gun. It’s semi-automatic. One trigger squeeze gets you one freedom seed.
4. ARs are NOT used in a majority of mass shootings.
5. The Assault Weapons ban of 1994 didn’t keep even ONE rifle from being made. It just called for certain gun modifications, like no lug for a bayonet (you know, to curb all the mass bayonet murders), no high-cap mags, flash suppressors, collapsible stocks, and no pistol grips.
6. Big, scary AR-15s actually come in many pretty colors. Blue, green, tan, white, and pink ARs are very common. Camo pink is especially popular.
7. More people are murdered every year by edged weapons (knives, swords, axes, etc.) than by ALL rifles combined (ARs, hunting, Civil War reenactors, etc.).
8. More people are murdered every year by feet and fists (Kung Fu, Krav Maga, punches) than by ALL rifles combined.
Now... We know that Pants-wetting Progressives are as allergic to facts and logic as they are to fi****ms and actual work, but at least you'll have make the effort.
