Johnny Appleseed day!!
Today is Johnny Appleseed day.
We learned that he wears a saucepan on his head and takes care of many apple orchards!

We weighted apples, did the sink and float test and found the surprise inside.

We planted seeds and woke up after nap and found apples:)

We are so excited to announce that Davinci’s Apprentice is coming to Southlake Early Care and Education! They will be offering S.T.E.A.M classes to our students ages 3 years and up. Just like our Amazing Athletes and Dance Dreams, Davinci’s Apprentice will come to the school on a weekly basis. Their scheduled day to come is on Friday’s. Davinci’s Apprentice is a S.T.E.A.M. based education program designed to take full advantage of this amazing time of growth in your little one’s brain, through the use of HANDS ON EXPERIMENTS giving them opportunities to question, try, fail and learn and actually do science! The cost for this weekly class is $52 a month, paid directly to Davinci’s. The goal of fire drills is to have our students automatically respond to fire alarms by following proper evacuation routes, resulting in safe and orderly evacuations.

Searching for gingerbread man at school is exciting! Wonder where he will be found !!

In Pre K B room.. Today's question of the day is who is in our school family? We talked about Ms. Amy, Ms. Sue, and Ms. Kristin and how their job is to make sure the school is safe and working for everyone. We talked about Ms. Deb who makes our food and makes sure we have healthy food to eat. We talked about everyone in our class and how it is our job to keep everyone in our class safe. We also read a book about how our class is a school family.

Preschool B
This week we have been reading the book "The Listening Walk" by Paul Showers. It is about a little girl who takes her dog for a walk and does not talk, instead she listens to all the sounds around her. After reading the story, we closed our eyes and listened to all the sounds in the school that we could hear from our classroom.

Today we took our listening walk outside quietly listening to everything. We took a sheet of contact paper and gathered some of the things we could hear on our listening walk!
Our listening walk sheets will be hanging in the classroom as a reminder to us that listening helps us be aware of our surroundings so we can stay safe!

We love our shapes. Infant B is sorting and matching the shapes.

We love Dancing. This large movement is a great activity when the weather is too hot.

Pre K A is loving charts . They discuss what are good choices and what we can do better.

Pre K C is working on their Gross Motor skills inside by doing Musical Chairs.

They loved it.
