The MYAC team is heading to Hickory Creek Nursing Home today for a little "BINGO and Baked Goods" fun on a Sunday afternoon! This will be our second visit this year.
The students really enjoy spending time with the residents there, and I think the residents kind of like it, too.

Congratulations to the Kendallville Mayor's Youth Advisory Council (MYAC), named the top-performing youth council in the state!
The group received the Aim Excellence in Youth award at the 2019 Aim Youth Leadership Summit in Bloomington, IN on Feb. 16 for their transformative and lasting efforts to better their community. The award includes $5,000 to undertake a development project to renovate an alley near the Strand Theatre in downtown Kendallville.
Students in grades 6-12 who are interested in becoming a MYAC member may contact Kendallville Mayor Suzanne Handshoe at 260-347-0352.

Tomorrow at 1:00pm, the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council is doing a service project at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Kendallville.
We've named it "Puzzles, Pastries and Pampering."
We'll be serving up a variety of pies and pastries, while playing games and painting nails with the residents!
We are excited, and expect this to be an enriching day for all!

Last night our MYAC members had the opportunity to meet with the brand new MYAC group from Garrett, Indiana. It was a great opportunity to share ideas and get inspired! They even brought their Mayor (Todd Fiandt) and School Superintendent (Tonya Weaver)!
