Temporary Financial Aid Office Hours August 19-23


The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid will be closed every morning this week from August 19-23 and will reopen daily at 1 p.m. for walk-in appointments. We know students are eager to receive their financial aid, and we appreciate this time to process applications. We look forward to assisting you in the afternoons! Normal office hours will resume the week of August 26.

If you are waiting to complete your 24/25 FAFSA, please do it today. The payment deadline for Fall semester is rapidly approaching.

If you need help with your FAFSA, our staff are at our front desk every day, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. You can also make an appointment with your assigned financial aid staff member. Please don’t wait any longer.

To maintain the HOPE Scholarship, you must keep a 3.0 HOPE GPA. Your GPA will be checked at the end of spring semester and when you attempt 30, 60 and 90 semester hours. You can monitor your HOPE GPA in college at GAfutures.org. You can regain the HOPE scholarship once, if you fall below the required GPA when you’ve attempted 30, 60, or 90 semester hours.

Estimated financial aid for Fall semester is scheduled to begin showing on student accounts with the Bursar’s Office on July1st. Please keep in mind that your financial aid file must be complete and you must be enrolled in classes for your aid to show on your student account.

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm. We always have financial aid staff available for walk-in assistance.

Federal Student Aid

At this point in time, we cannot make corrections to 24/25 FAFSA information. The Department of Education has stated this functionality will be available for colleges and universities at the end of June on a student by student basis. This is not just a KSU issue, but an issue at all colleges and universities. As soon as the functionality is available, we will start making updates as needed.

Are you a student loan borrower in default? Our Fresh Start relief program is completely free, and you can get the benefits of getting out of default in 4–6 weeks. ​

Students: Still need to complete the GSFAPP? Completing the GSFAPP makes applying for the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarships or Grants and (if attending an eligible private college) GTEG easier than ever!

The HOPE and Zell Miller amounts have been posted for 24/25. Please note, there is a difference in the two programs this year. For KSU, the difference in the two programs is a few dollars per semester hour.

We know it has been a while since we’ve provided any updates here. It’s been a very busy time in our office lately.

We just wanted to remind everyone that we will be closed tomorrow in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Thursday at 8am.

If you are waiting to file the FAFSA for 24/25, please do it today! Today is our priority deadline date to file your FAFSA. We know there have been challenges with filing this year, but if you need help, please reach out to our office.

The KSU Internal Scholarship Application closes on Monday, April 15th. Please make sure you've submitted your application! We have several scholarships with no applicants.

As most of you know, we will not start receiving 24/25 FAFSA information until sometime in March.

We are recommending that students complete the GSFAPP to ensure we can have your HOPE Scholarship or Zell Miller Scholarship applied to your account. You can complete the application at GAfutures.org. The GSFAPP is good for 10 years, so you only need to complete it once.

You can check your HOPE/Zell Miller GPA on GAfutures.org. You can also see how many hours of eligibility you have used. This is a great way to keep up with your information!

Yesterday, Federal Student Aid announced that they will not start sending FAFSA data to colleges until March. This will impact all colleges and universities, not just KSU. We will continue to update you with more information as we have it.

We encourage you to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible and are here to help as much as we can through this process.

We have not started receiving the information from the U.S. Department of Education yet regarding students who've completed the FAFSA. We were originally told we would start receiving information by the end of January. We'll keep you posted on any updates!
