Excellence isn't a one-time choice; it's a lifestyle. You either live by it or you don't.
These guys are living it.
Decide who you want to be, and then do THAT work. 💪🇺🇸
Discipline is freedom.
3 Habits of Leaders People [want to] Follow.
1. Get input from experienced leaders around you.
There's a saying that goes, "a wise man never knows all, only fools know everything."
Immature leaders make decisions in a vacuum. Wise and impacful leaders find strength in asking others who have gone before them for insight and wisdom.
At the end of the day, this is about humility. Learn to seek wise council from others.
2. Take massive ownership for things in your sphere of influence.
Jordan Peterson once said, "Your life becomes meaningful in precise proportion to the depths of the responsibility you are willing to shoulder."
Young and immature leaders let others take responsibility for what they are capable of being responsible for. True leaders make themselves ultimately responsible for everything that goes right and wrong in their sphere of influence.
What level of responsibility are you strong enough to shoulder (or stomach). Learn to take massive responsibility for the world around you.
3. Willingly delay gratification.
If you will lead like one else now, you can lead like no one else later.
Pleasure-seeking leaders lack self-possession and the capacity to think long term. Impactful leaders have the self-control, discipline, and perseverance to delay gratification and bargain with the future.
After all, how can you possibly command others, when you are incapable of commanding yourself. Learn to delay gratification.
Marinw officers make up .000052% of the American population. These candidates have said yes to the nation's call to serve and aim to join the ranks of the few and the proud.
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem"
-President Ronald Reagan
Another batch of candidates from OSS Kennesaw head to Brown Field to earn their salt. They have been preparing for quite some time now and I am absolutely confident that they are ready to take up the challenge.
