Chocolate sommelier Estelle Tracy's lecture on the History of Chocolate was captivating! We learned about the Cacao bean (a fruit), where it grows, its health benefits, and more, making us appreciate chocolate even more!

Community Life Associate, Jessica took Linden Hall residents on a Cruise to a tropical island! The day included boarding passes, travelogue and quizzo, yacht rock tunes on the piano, fitness fiesta class, and a tropical sunrise mocktail with the Captain!

We were able to munch on the homemade pickles that we made the other day and they were SUPER! Can you tell if they were sweet or sour by looking at our facial expressions?😳😀

Consider all the stimulating elements associated with cooking. (Smell, Sight, Taste)This morning we are making Homemade Refrigerator Pickles. 🥒 Day #1 Slicing cucumbers, adding coriander seeds, mustard seeds, garlic, dill and our brine( also, sampling the cukes)

Meet resident Karen from Wisconsin who lives at Friends Home. Karen went to Marquette University and was a medical tech and raised a son and daughter in Wisconsin. Karen was a champion diver earlier in her life. Karen loves the meals at Friends Home and has made alot of nice friends. Including me!

A full house for our Performing Arts this past week. Chrissy Strong and friends performed some beautiful piano ballads for us. Chrissy is an emerging singer/ songwriter. Thank you for sharing your talent with Friends Home🎼
The Montessori approach at Linden Hall enables residents to live life to the fullest. Today, they made a delicious strawberry yogurt parfait.

She loves dogs (especially, Murphy) and apparently, loves Murphy’s human! Murphy brings so much joy to our residents on his visits.
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
Residents were treated to a fun afternoon filled with food and bingo! We enjoyed a delicious meal of BBQ Chicken or Ribs along with southern style green beans, macaroni and cheese, corn casserole and banana pudding for dessert! Thank you to our Dining Services team for the homemade food and the Community Life team for leading Bingo!
The theme at Friends Home is always fun with friends and lots of activities. Here we are playing Canasta a card game. Minds are sharp and having tons of fun!!
Enjoying the lazy days of summer at Friends Home
This weekend we were excited to host Center Stage Opera performing Hansel & Gretal. You know… Two siblings get lost in the woods and stumble upon a candy house! Our very own Friends Home Music associate, Brenten, played several parts in the performance!
Check out our Father’s Day album! We enjoyed Root Beer Floats and lots of games! Our celebration featured a delicious meal prepared by Chef Julian, including Grilled Sirloin Steak with red wine reduction sauce, smashed red potatoes, and garlic broccolini. Seared Salmon with jicama slaw, quinoa, and sautéed green beans. We ended the night with Sponge Cake Crème Anglaise and basil berry compote for dessert!
Today we celebrate our Friends Home Dads who have been a constant source of love, support, and guidance. Happy Father's Day to our heroes!

For more than 100 years, Friends Home in Kennett has been a special part of historic Kennett Square. Our tradition of hospitality and caring began in 1898, when a group from the Religious Society of Friends (“Quakers”) came together to serve the area’s older adults.
