Next In Line’s Nieko Sorrentino Powers Through First State Community Bank

Nieko Sorrentino hit two home runs and drove in four as Next In Line defeated First State Community Bank 14-11 on Thursday at 101-199 W 9th St, Kennett, MO 63857. Sorrentino homered in the first and third innings.

Next In Line collected 18 hits and First State Community Bank had 19 in the high-scoring affair.

First State Community Bank got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kewan Hubbard singled, and Jesus Luna doubled, each scoring one run.

Sorrentino homered to left field, which helped Next In Line tie the game at two in the bottom of the first.

Next In Line took the lead in the bottom of the second. Kevin Crouch doubled, scoring two runs, to give Next In Line the advantage, 4-2.

David De La Fuente singled, which helped First State Community Bank tie the game at four in the top of the third.

Next In Line flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on eight hits to take the lead, 10-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Blake White that drove in three.

First State Community Bank scored five runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Eric Salas tripled, scoring one run, Johnny Marrow tripled, scoring one run, Cesar Moncada singled, scoring one run, De La Fuente doubled, scoring one run, and Tyler Womack doubled, scoring one run.

Crouch stepped in the circle first for Next In Line. The pitcher surrendered 19 hits and 11 runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking none. Marrow stepped in the circle first for First State Community Bank. The right-handed pitcher allowed 18 hits and 14 runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one.

Next In Line accumulated 18 hits in the game. White, Andy Carrillo, and Keandre Diamond each collected three hits for Next In Line. White and Sorrentino each drove in four runs for Next In Line. Tyler Battles and Crouch each collected multiple hits for Next In Line.

First State Community Bank piled up 19 hits in the game. Marrow, De La Fuente, and Hubbard each collected three hits for First State Community Bank. De La Fuente led First State Community Bank with three runs batted in. The leadoff hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Womack and Moncada each collected multiple hits for First State Community Bank. First State Community Bank didn't commit a single error in the field. Marrow had the most chances in the field with five.

Next up for Next In Line is a game against Rent 2 Go on Saturday.

First-Inning Spurt Lead First Baptist Church Past Trash Talkers

First Baptist Church defeated Trash Talkers 10-3 on Tuesday at 101-199 W 9th St, Kennett, MO 63857 thanks in part to six runs in the first inning. Tiffany Harris singled, scoring one run, Dustin Hunter singled, scoring one run, None induced Hannah Burk to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Johnathan Binkard singled, scoring one run, and Matthew Cohn singled, scoring two runs.

Michael Glover homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second for the First Baptist Church.

Two more First Baptist Church runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 10-3. Logan Dollins hit a solo home run to left field, and Binkard singled, scoring one run.

First Baptist Church accumulated 21 hits in the game. Dustin Harris, Dollins, and Binkard each collected three hits for First Baptist Church. Cohn, Glover, and Binkard each drove in two runs for First Baptist Church. Hunter and Harris each collected multiple hits for First Baptist Church. First Baptist Church turned two double plays in the game.

Dustin Woods, Josh Lebo, and Billy Martin each drove in one run for Trash Talkers. Martin led Trash Talkers with two hits in three at bats.

First Baptist Church will travel to First State Community Bank for their next game on Saturday.

Misfits Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Rotary Club

Misfits took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 13-12 walk-off victory over Rotary Club. The game was tied at 12 in the bottom of the seventh when Shondrea singled, scoring one run.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Misfits collected 23 hits and Rotary Club 17 in the high-scoring affair.

Rotary Club opened the scoring in the first after Felicia Dogan singled, scoring one run.

Eli Luster singled, which helped Misfits tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

In the top of the third, Rotary Club broke up the tie when Amador Luna singled, scoring one run. Then a triple by Steve Arryo followed to extend the lead to 5-1.

Misfits took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Luster tripled, Brandala singled, and Kewon Hopkins doubled, each scoring one run.

Rotary Club flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 11-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Nate Goings that drove in two.

Misfits tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a triple by Travis Murray, a triple by Daryl Dunn, and a single by Luster.

Rotary Club took the lead in the top of the sixth. Arryo singled, scoring one run, to give Rotary Club the lead, 12-11.

Hopkins homered to center field, which helped Misfits tie the game at 12 in the bottom of the sixth.

Dunn earned the win for Misfits. The starter gave up 17 hits and 12 runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking four.

Misfits amassed 23 hits in the game. Hopkins led Misfits with four hits in four at bats. Cassie Oquin, Marcus Woodson, Tyumbre Coleman, Murray, and Dunn each collected multiple hits for Misfits. Misfits were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Murray made the most plays with eight.

Rotary Club amassed 17 hits in the game. Arryo drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rotary Club with four runs batted in. Arryo went 2-for-3 on the day. Luna led Rotary Club with four hits in four at bats. Ricky Goings, Dogan, Dom Jay, Goings, and Ally Jewel each collected multiple hits for Rotary Club. Rotary Club had patience at the plate, tallying four walks for the game. Rotary Club turned two double plays in the game.

Next up for Misfits is a game at Senath State Bank on Saturday.
