Our Sprouts Playgroups kiddos are all dressed up and ready for some spooky fun! From magical fairies and adventurous Super Marios to adorable animals, their costumes are lighting up our day. 🧡✨

🎃 Halloween was in full swing for our Adult Services at KAC! GardenWorks and Voyage programs took a fun trip to the Gateway Sustainable Living Center, where participants built bat houses—giving back to our environment in spooky style! 🦇

Meanwhile, Day Service had an incredible Halloween party filled with spooky games, delicious treats, and festive costumes. From eerie decorations to laughs all around, everyone embraced the Halloween spirit! 🎉

Elijah began in 2016 with our Summer Employment Exploration, and Alex joined in 2018 through Supported Employment. Their hard work and dedication turned internships into permanent roles.

💅👐 Our Voyage participants had a hands-on experience learning about the importance of proper hand, foot, and nail hygiene! After testing out some fake germs 👀, they headed over to Gateway's Salon to get tips from the pros on how to keep everything clean and healthy. A big thank you to the amazing team at Gateway Salon for teaching us the best self-care practices! 💖

🌟 Throwback Thursday: Summer Employment Exploration 🌟

In celebration of KAC’s 60th anniversary, we’re shining a light on the Summer Employment Exploration program and Collin’s inspiring journey! Referred by DVR in 2017, Collin began exploring different jobs through the program, discovering his strengths and preferences in the workforce.

From there, Collin joined Supported Employment and developed an interest in janitorial work. Now, he works at Kenosha Common Markets every Saturday, helping keep the grounds clean and assisting with setup and teardown.

Collin’s journey from Summer Employment Exploration to long-term employment shows how this program helps individuals build confidence, skills, and lasting careers. His next goal? Finding a weekday job to continue his success!

Our Day Service participants celebrated Ride a Motorcycle Day with a special visit to Uke's Harley-Davidson! 🎉 They got an exclusive tour of the store and museum, learning a bit about Harley's rich history and getting a firsthand look at some amazing bikes. 🏍️

It was a day filled with excitement and discovery, as participants explored the world of motorcycles and enjoyed seeing the iconic Harleys up close! Thank you to Uke’s Harley for hosting us and making the day memorable! 🙌

🍕 Voyage Learns the Art of Pizza Making! 🍕

Our Voyage participants had a blast learning all about the pizza-making business at Derango's Pizza! They got hands-on experience crafting their own pizzas while learning important cooking and restaurant employment skills. 🙌

🌟 Forward Friday: Meet Eden 🌟

As we continue to celebrate our 60th anniversary this month, we are excited to highlight another wonderful story from our Sprouts Playgroups program! 🎉 Today, we introduce you to Eden, who joined us in May 2023 when she was just 8 months old! 💕

Eden's family discovered Sprouts through a pamphlet at their doctor’s office, and ever since, she’s been thriving. Sprouts has provided Eden with an incredible space to socialize with other children her age, and her family found a supportive "village" right here at KAC. 🌿

From Open Play to connecting with other families, Sprouts has been a game-changer for Eden. Over the last year, she’s learned to walk, blow bubbles, climb stairs, and pick up so many new words! 🌟 Eden is the only child at home, so before Sprouts, she didn't have many chances to model new behaviors from other children. Now, she's blossoming into her own unique person and learning how to be a good friend. 🌸

We’re so proud of Eden’s growth and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her! 🌈
