In honor of Monday's College Football National Championship game we have some "Huskies & Hydros" trivia, with a copy of Doug Fords's The Wizards of Speed on Water for the first person to post the correct answer. Who is the FASTEST person to ever play guard on the U of W football team?

The answer is: Lee Taylor. He was a Junior College transfer in 1956 and played guard for the Dawgs and went on to set the WWSR at 285.22 mph on June 30th,1967 in Guntersville AL

We used to have a couple big blocks of Styrofoam - about 2' x 2' x 4' and they were perfect for setting cowlings or wings or even outboard boats on while we were working on them, They were thrown out a few years ago and I've just come across a project where we could really use them again. Do any of our Museum members or fans know where we can find some more big foam blocks like that?

Hydros & prime rib. Who could want anything more? Last night was the volunteer appreciation dinner at the museum. We roasted prime rib for 60 people. I want to send out a big thank you to Teri Rowan Fornwalt, Jill Morrison Glass, Parke Schneider, Ken Strong, Denise Strong and Ike Kielgass for helping to make this a first class meal. And of course I want to send out a huge that you to all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make 2023 a success.

Today is a very busy day at the Hydroplane Museum. The Circus Circus crew is cutting out frames, the Atlas guys are draining the oil from their Merlin. The Squire engine team is working on their new engine, Randy Muller is doing wood work on the Miss Madison and there are a ton of J families working on their boats including four generations of the Kelly family. Mahogany & Merlot on Lake Chelan, WA. Oct 6th - 8th, 2023 is BIGGER and BETTER than ever with 9 Unlimited hydros, 24 Limited boats, 30 ACBS Mahogany boats and a dozen vendors in our Vendor Village. The weather forecast is awesome and we can't wait to see you there. In the past we have let non running boats do static displays in the pits. We don't have room this year for static displays. We want everyone to have a great time, but unless you have called David or Teri (206) 764-9453 and reserved space, please do not show up with a boat for static display.

Tonight the ROTT ( Royal Order of The Turbine) awarded me their much coveted Potted Palm. (Okay I’m not sure if it is coveted, in fact they were thrilled for me to remove it from the premises.) I took it straight to the pits for a killer sunset photo opp.

The poor kids at the drive through didn’t know what to do when we pulled up with three unlimiteds

So is this what they mean when they say, “Get all your ducks in a row?”
