Videos by SEIU Healthcare 1199NW in Kent. Our mission is to win quality healthcare and good jobs for all. With over 30,000 nurses and caregivers, we are the Northwest's largest healthcare union.
The results are in: Healthcare workers at MultiCare Deaconess in Spokane and Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley overwhelmingly voted to authorize our bargaining team to take public action up to and including an unfair labor practice strike if an agreement is not reached. We donโt want to strike, but we will if we have to. We're standing up for quality patient care and sounding the alarm against MultiCareโs corporate greed!

Workers at Cascade psych facility deliver in-person plea for safety to Acadia CEO Debbie Osteen
Cascade Behavioral Health and its parent company, Acadia Healthcare, are for-profit companies preying on vulnerable patients and cutting corners on safety. Staff and patients at the facility deserve a safe environment to work and recover. That's why dozens of us are on safety strike to fight for the health of our patients and our community. #Striketober

Press Conference on Immigrant Justice Impacts of Ongoing Safety Crisis at Cascade
Healthcare workers at Cascade Behavioral Health held a joint press conference today with OneAmerica, the largest immigrant and refugee advocacy organization in Washington State, to call out the abnormally unsafe working conditions at Cascade, a sign that the voices and rights of immigrant workers are being disrespected.
We shared our concerns about the discrimination, disrespect and outright racism we've experienced and the resulting impacts on patient care.

SEIU Healthcare 1199NW CNAs at UW Medicine - Northwest Hospital march on the boss
The CNAs of UW Medicine - Northwest take great pride in our work and are the foundation of patient care in the hospital. But right now our staffing is in crisis mode, jeopardizing our ability to provide quality patient care.
Yesterday, we delivered our petition to management demanding they show us the respect we deserve and address the staffing crisis immediately. We will remain united until we win!
