☀️We made it to mid June and summer is in full swing!

All month we’ve been reading in our small shop/independent shop owner groups that the dreaded June slump is officially here.⚰️

🤩Today we want to make an awareness post about remembering to support your local Main Streets and downtowns. Doesn’t matter where you live, this post isn’t just about supporting downtown [Kent, Ohio], but it’s about all the small shops on Main Streets everywhere.

These small shops are what MAKE your town. The big name chain stores are not special or unique but your downtown IS! We do what big stores can’t do as far as building community and supporting y’all, our citizens. We hold events, we hold workshops, we donate, we employ locals but most importantly, we know YOU.

So this week, let’s show support for the little guys out there doing the hard and the big things. Especially the ones that don’t have an e-commerce side to their businesses to rely on during notoriously slow months. Visit your downtown boutiques and don’t just go to look. Go to BUY. Even if it’s a very small thing, those things add up and reinvigorate and give purpose back to those businesses that are looking at their sales reports praying they make it through another June & July.

Let’s fill up our downtowns, y’all! Shop owners work so hard year round to bring you the best experiences possible. Let’s show them the love!🛍️💕
