"Exercising" the suspension on this 10-inch woofer before spec testing. This is a new woofer we're building for one of our sister company's (RJM Audio Lab) upcoming models. We needed a REALLY good woofer that would work well in a two-way sealed enclosure, so we based this on one of the tried and tested classics in this category: the Advent woofer.
We use a slightly larger magnet (28oz vs. 20Oz in the original) which offers approx. 2dB more sensitivity and more control over cone movement. The cone, surround and spider are the exact same as the original, the voice coil is a 2 layer with a .75" wind vs. .5" in the original, all mounted in a conventional 10-inch stamped steel frame.
Testing and modeling continues, stay tuned for news concerning this and other new models in our line.
