Celebrate Plastic Free July with this whole month!

They’ll be posting weekly challenges for you to make more conscious and sustainable choices this month, and ask that you pledge to take each challenge and practice these small sustainable adjustments that could serve to educate and inspire those around you to do the same. 🌀

This week's challenge: ditch plastic bottles and single-use cups and use reusable water bottles and bring our own cups to take-outs and cafes instead. What do you think? Are you up for the challenge?

Remember to tag them in a story taking the challenge, you can win an AZWC x Takeya water bottle 💙

Join the Mónica Burguera Foundation for their 14th Annual Fishing Tournament on June 29th at the Key Biscayne Yacht Club.

The Mónica Burguera Foundation (M.B.F.) has been promoting boating safety education for over 14 years. Funds raised are used to sponsor the Boating Safety Education Course taught by the Coast Guard Auxilary, which is required by Florida law for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1988. Please consider learning more about this organization and participating in its 14th annual tournament. 🎣☀️Link: https://monicaburguerafoundation.org/events

The Mónica Burguera Foundation was established in memory of Mónica Burguera, a 20-year-old Florida International University student who died in a tragic boating accident during the 2006 Columbus Day Regatta weekend festivities in Miami, Florida.

The accident took the lives of Mónica and James Noel Pou and left many others seriously injured. After this fatal accident, Mónica’s family and close friends realized the importance of boat safety education.

They decided to honor Mónica's legacy by building a not-for-profit foundation that promotes water safety and education.

The Community Foundation would like to congratulate Winnie Pritchett and Amy Zambrano, the phenomenal women behind IPads For Soldiers, on the April 1st installation of "Footsteps to Freedom" at Walter Reed Military Hospital.🥾🌻🇺🇸

This represents a labor of love spanning many years, soldiers, families, artists and donors.

The boots were worn in combat, in the deserts of Afghanistan and other far-away places.

They were worn by troops injured in war and others who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

And now, they are on display as part of an honored art installation on Naval Support Activity Bethesda, home to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Please scroll through for images and videos.
