It is with heavy hearts that we gather to remember and honor the life of our beloved Christophe Ribot, who touched our lives in countless ways. We invite you to join us for a memorial service and ash scattering ceremony as we bid farewell to Christophe and celebrate the profound impact he had on all of us.

Time: 1:00 PM- 5PM

1pm-2.30pm: Gathering at Paradise Cove (Shelter next to the MKB Concession)- we will be sharing videos and pictures. Open mic For those who wish to say something.

3pm-4.30pm Paddle out and scattering of the ashes

In accordance with Christophe's wishes, we will come together to paddle out into the ocean, where we will disperse his ashes, symbolizing his eternal connection with the elements he cherished so deeply. This act allows us to find solace in the beauty of the ocean, where Christophe found peace and serenity throughout his life.

During the memorial service, we will share stories, memories, and reflections about Christophe's life. It will be an opportunity for us to support one another, find comfort in our shared grief, and celebrate the person Christophe was.

We welcome any photos, videos, or memories you may have of Christophe. You can provide them beforehand, and we will ensure they are included in the commemorative tribute.

Christophe touched the lives of many, and we hope to create a meaningful and heartfelt gathering that honors his memory. Your presence and support will mean the world to us during this difficult time.

Christopher Robinson

Dear friends and kiters. It is with great sorrow and tears, that we share with you the saddest news that our friend, Christopher Robinson passed away last night in his sleep, peacefully.
We spent the day processing it.
Chris learned kiteboarding at crandon 7 years ago.
It transformed his lifestyle and became so passionate of the sport, he put all his skills and spirit into it.
Chris was a visionary, highly educated, sharp business man, compassionate and attentive to everyone.
The product of his passion and altruisme became SOFLO Riders which he founded to help young kiters around the world accessing sponsorship and being on the spotlight to in turn transform their life, as kiteboarding did to his own life.
In honoring our dear friend, we will host a kiteboarding gathering this Saturday May 13th at Crandon, 2pm for a 1 hour free expression riding session.
Let’s be on the water all together as he wanted to see us.
You are all invited to join.
Bring your SOFLO hat /Tshirt / lycra/ board /kite. Anything you have.
We know he is going to be proud watching us celebrating his memory.

MASTERS 2023 RESCHEDULED IN OCTOBER !
Despite a beautiful and windy day Saturday , we didn't have enough contestants enrolled to run all the races and distribute the many trophies in each categories.
So we turned it into a fun practice day and throw several informal races for those who were here.
Meanwhile we will wait for a solid windy weekend in October to run this 19th edition of our Annual MKB MASTERS.
and we keep all our raffle prizes as well. : Kites - Wings - Harness etc
Hopefully a windier Fall season !
We will send updates few weeks before.

MKB MASTERS 2023 – UPDATE #7 & FINAL

Dear riders and Masters participants,

THE MKB MASTERS ARE CONFIRMED THIS WEEKEND! Saturday , Sunday April 29&30.

It looks like we were wise to wait as the forecast turns to be even more favorable than we expected for this weekend:

Saturday: S wind @14 knots in the afternoon – High tide 4.35pm

Perfect conditions to run all the RACES on that day: We will start with the SLALOM by 11am, then will wait for the high tide to run WINGFOIL and FOIL Races from 2 to 5.30pm
Races AWARD ceremony will be done the same day.

Sunday: SSW @20+ knots with higher Gusts when the rain bands pass over.

The wind will shift more SW after this rain but should give us enough of a window to run the FREESTYLE contest in the morning at 10am, Be ready!

We will run the Freestyle AWARD Ceremony right after.

So the event may even be wrapped up before the rain starts!

Registrations are still open, Hurry, as we have limited participants spaces. But a bunch of TROPHIES for all winners in GOLD and SILVER DIVISIONS for each of the 4 categories.

MKB MASTERS 2023- UPDATE #6 : It’s Happening this weekend !

Hello dear riders,
The forecast looks doable for this Weekend April 29-30, so we are taking the opportunity of this short window to make it happen, or we may not have further options in May.

Saturday SE Breeze around 12 kts by mid afternoon / Sunday S to SW flow at 15+kts
Tides Sunday: High 11.20am / Low 5.30pm

If the forecast remains the same, we will likely run the FOIL RACES on Saturday.
Sunday will be SLALOM RACES in the Morning, followed by FREESTYLE and WINGFOIL RACES in mid afternoon to benefit from incoming tide.
SSW wind is actually Side-shore at Crandon so we should be good all Sunday

We ll post another update on Thursday as always.

MKB MASTERS 2023 - UPDATE #5
Dear Riders, it looks like the Wind Gods are having fun this year 🤨!
we have been postponing for the 3rd time ! and the wind keeps on dying on weekends ! Never seen that in April.
2023 will remain one of the most frustrating year in the archives.
As of now, this weekend does NOT look any better than the past ones. We will send another Update on Thursday , but if we don’t reach 12 knots all day, we will likely standby again and Postpone to the next weekend one more time: April 29-30.
We will get it eventually and will beat the odds !
And meanwhile we will throw another Clinic this weekend in preparation of the official Competition.

MKB MASTERS 2023 - UPDATE #4 (Tuesday 4th, 6pm)

Hello everyone, The forecast for this weekend looks the same as last week: Light on Saturday, no wind Sunday. 😩
Additionally, the County kindly reminded us that Kiteboarding is NOT ALLOWED ON EASTER SUNDAY, due to peak affluence of beach goers.

Therefore the MASTERS will not happen this weekend.

We are rescheduling for April 22 & 23, as I will be out-of-town next week.

It is actually a great opportunity to motivate everyone to participate and get ready for the races;

The Masters being an event originally put together for our local community, we would love for more of you guys to join the fun, while taking your riding skills to the next level.

Therefore will be offering Free clinics in the next 2 weeks to train you on how to race and give everyone a better chance to perform in a simple amateur competition.
The first clinic will be held this Good Friday 7th at Crandon at 12PM and we will be working on the following skills :
How to Tune your Kite - Understanding the Starting Procedures - How to take the best Start - How to Run the Marks and avoid Tangling your lines - Upwind and Downwind techniques - How to Score better in Freestyle Contest.

The forecast shows 14 knots ! We will mix theoretical knowledge, demonstrations and practice runs.
Meeting at the BM sign-in Hut. 12pm this Friday.

MASTERS 2023 - UPDATE #3 :
We decided to POSTPONE the event to the following weekend all together. Considering that:
1/ Wind is uncertain according to various models.
2/ This Saturday, the low tide is at mid-day , which is not favorable for Foil/wingfoil races
3/ And there is a Half marathon in the morning , which may create traffic and delay even more the event. So lets hope for better condition on the Easter weekend. See you next week . We will continue sending updates as we approach the dates. Cheers everyone !🤛

Happy to share this Video of the US olympic foil races hosted by MKB at Crandon on Janu 14-16.
Beautiful drone images , and successful first event with 7 races ran over the weekend, despite challenging Offshore west wind, but hey all made it with 21m foil kites and the skills that go with it. .😁
More Olympic events to come at our beach , as we partnered with the Miami US Olympic Chapter. They loved the venue 💪🏆
