On behalf of the Keyport Police Department, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out during this difficult time following the unexpected passing of our brother, Lt. Gregory Johnson.

Services for Lt. Johnson will be held on Friday, August 30th, at Shore Point Funeral Home in Hazlet, with viewings from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral will take place on Saturday, August 31st, at 10 AM at St. Benedict’s Church.

A special thank you to all the surrounding towns for their support and assistance. Your kindness and solidarity mean more than words can express.

We want to introduce Keyport’s new Police Officer Michael Devino. Police Officer Devino has been working in the Borough as Special Police Officer 2 since May of 2023 and we are pleased to have him on as a full time Officer. Congratulations Patrolman Michael Devino!

Monmouth County Road Department will be milling and paving Green Grove Ave. at the bridge connecting to Middle Road. Green Grove will be closed at Maple Pl with a detour. This road closure will be Wednesday 8/21 and Thursday 8/22 from 730am-330pm. Please use an alternate route.

Power line down on Beers St and Francis St. Avoid area as roads are closed. JCPL notified and assessing.

POWER OUTAGE
There is a wire down on Beers Street causing the power outage in the area. JCP&L has been advised and are responding. Please avoid the area as Beers is closed by the Henry Hudson Trail.

Who’s missing 5 puppies??? Located in the area of Fulton Street. ***Owner Located puppies returned home safely***

Due to paving on the Aberdeen side of Amboy Ave Bridge, the road is closed at the bridge on the Keyport side. Local traffic only will be permitted. Businesses are open on Aberdeen side of the bridge.

Today Sgt. Aumack participated in career week at Abundant Life Children Development Center Summer Camp. Camp goers learned about what being a law enforcement officer entails and the requirements to become a law enforcement officer. Campers also engaged Sgt. Aumack is a Q&A session and got a tour of a police car!

** Power Outage **

There is a power line down on Broadway in Union Beach. This is causing the outages. JCP&L crew is on the scene and is working to get power back up within an hour.

Sgt. Degroat had a fantastic day working with the kids at the MCSO Youth Week Academy, showcasing all the dive team gear! A big thank you to Sheriff Golden and the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office for an amazing week!

American Legion Drive will be closed to thru traffic between the parking lot by the Waterfront Gazebo and Fireman’s Lot on Thursday July 11 from 4pm-9pm for “Concert on the Bay” (5pm-8pm)
