Honey's name is so fitting. She is a sweet one year old mom who is ready to be an empty nester! Honey has 6 kittens, 10 weeks old. She has been an attentive, loving mom but now would love a forever home of her own with her very own best human. Honey has an appointment on 9/ 23/ 2024 to be spayed through the generosity of Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck Thank you A.W.L.! Honey will be an affectionate, wonderful companion. She will be delighted to meet you!

Kicking off the week with a wonderful pose from Delilah. This one year old is elegantly lovely with a beautiful, glossy coat. She has her sit down perfectly and walks quite well on a leash. Delilah takes great joy from a leisurely walk with a favorite person. She makes quite charming eye contact. Delilah seems rather dog selective so a meet and greet will be necessary for her opinion on a possible canine sibling! It seems a good sibling fit for Delilah is not a dominant female dog. Delilah is very motivated to form relationships with humans . She will be a fabulous companion. Our cat room is open to meet kitties today, Monday, 11:00 to 3:00. (.We won't be showing dogs temporarily due to an airborne virus some of our dogs have) We are happy to answer any questions about Delilah of our other shelter pets and will continue to post pictures for your viewing pleasure. We still have walk-in hours Monday and Thursday 11-3 and Saturday 11-2 to show the cats and assist the community with intakes such as stray/homeless dogs or surrenders.

Kacey Musgraves. What a delight. This gentle girl has made multiple friends and is part of several play groups. She has a lovely temperament. What a treasure this girl is- befriending big dogs and small and all the humans in her life. Kacey Musgraves has an appointment to be spayed later in September. Happy weekend from Radar! He has come so far since he arrived at tbe shelter. Radar has made many frlends since he arrived. Shelter life is quite an adjustment when dogs first arrive. Radar was scared, reactive and tentative at first. When he saw other pups going out for walks and playtime he realized maybe he should turn his charm on. Now it is game on at playtime! Radar is 50 very good looking pounds and just a year and a few months old. Thank you Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck for paying for Radar's neutering. We are deeply appreciative of your generosity. Radar still needs time to warm up to new people. Please take the time to meet outside the kennel so you can see his engaging smile once we reopen for dog meet and greets. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for Victoria, a bright and compassionate 10-year-old, who held a lemonade stand at Rivah Consignments yesterday to benefit the Animal Welfare League of the Northern Neck. Thanks to her hard work and the generosity of our wonderful community, she raised over $300, and her granddad matched her donation!

Victoria’s dedication and kindness will go a long way in helping us provide care for animals in need. We are especially inspired by her dream of becoming a veterinarian and making a lifelong difference in the lives of animals.

Gigi! This darling girl is playful and friendly. Photo credit to one of our dedicated cat volunteers, Stacey. Gigi was fostered for the first few weeks after she arrived at the shelter to give her some extra love, attention and socialization. Thank you to wonderful volunteer Val for all the dedicated fostering she does. Gigi is 11 weeks old. She is used to playing with other kittens so she would be thrilled to be adopted with one of her good buddies. Currently we have two kittens for one adoption fee! Gigi is also available as a single adoption. Gigi Is delighted by attention from humans as well. All round irresistible! This ever so cute girl has so much love and joy to give!
