I’m giving my full support to Walter Scott and Aaron because they were clearly campaigning for the betterment of the school system, just as Glenda and myself campaigned.

All four of us were very clear about the reasons we were running for school board. Fresh blood. New and improved ideas for an already great school system and frankly, a school board that has been working decently well together once the mask debacle ceased.

You heard it over and over: “burn the house down”…

That was the other 3. They were more concerned with other things contrary to what Glenda, Walter Scott, Aaron and myself focused on. They were (are) more concerned with the sitting school board chair. Yes, the one that wasn’t on the ballet, not up for re-election. Folks, our county voted for two guys with a vendetta against Robert Queen and several other people vested into the local Republican Party who were, during this time, irrelevant.

I have no idea where Ronnie and Danny stand on their campaign other than beating the ”good ol boy” system, or whatever. That’s pretty much all that came out of their mouths. School system is broken, it needs change and got to get rid of Robert Queen.

The disappointment from me comes from the low turn out of voters but of that low turn out, over half voted for baseless accusations about the current school board and administration. There hasn’t been a focus on the kids or the teachers. Unfortunately, really.

I assure you that Aaron and Walter Scott will stay above all that crud and work for the betterment of the Cleveland County school system. I hope they earn your vote.

It’s time to start laying down some facts [and accusations] about the last few months (Republican primary campaigns). Perhaps it’s time to receive some explanations to accompany those facts.

I ran out of concern for what my children faced during Covid. I ran because I was fully against some of the decisions the board made about masks, closures, quarantine and what not. I started really paying attention to school board meetings and soon came to the realization that I could do something like that and serve my community in that regard. Nobody asked me to do it. Prior to that decision to give it a shot, I had never spoken to any of the board members unless it was good afternoon sir/ma’am in passing by (If i ever did…not sure). I didn’t know one of them from Adam. From what I know of the friends I made during the campaign (Aaron, Walter Scott and Glenda) they were in the same boat as me. Just regular ol people trying to come in and give it a shot.

Despite this, I was dragged through a high school like drama fest from 3 of my opponents about being recruited by some established local Republicans and sitting school board members. I just rolled my eyes and over looked it because it wasn’t and isn’t true. The same 3 people that smeared me for this, signed up at the board of elections and posted pictures together and on day 1 made it known that they were running together as a team to beat us (the recruited candidates 🙄). The trash talking from them (mostly Annette) commenced. Still, I over looked it. I was going to run my own race and have a clean campaign. They could do whatever they want.. I didn’t care.

Fact of the matter is, it was the other way around. Danny definitely recruited Ronnie and maybe Annette. I personally am ok with that. Was then, am now. Don’t care and especially didn’t care enough to use it against them. Ronnie mentioned multiple times that Danny asked him to run. Big deal. I mean, I don’t think it’s illegal or against the rules or anything for a sitting school board member to recruit someone to run. I had zero reason to talk bad or negatively about any of them. I figured they all were in it for the right reasons…. But dang it if they made up some stuff about the reasons I was running and spun that around real quick. Just know, I still won’t talk bad about them- like I haven’t all along.

You’ll soon see why I will only help my two friends Aaron and Walter Scott to get to November and simply hope for the best for the other two spots. You see, I’m no longer a candidate nor am I holding any kind of office in the Republican Party, so I’m really at liberty to share my opinion on who I think are the best candidates for the job.

I encourage you all to get to know these men and keep them in your prayers as they prepare for the general election in November.

Trust me when I say, I’m ok. In fact, perfectly ok with the results. God has other plans for me or maybe he saved me from all the drama, I don’t know but I’m completely ok with it.

Had a great time this afternoon at the Shelby Mission Camp creating and packing meals for Meals Of Hope with my family! What a great experience to serve the Lord right here in our own backyard!

I couldn’t help but think of ways to get our schools involved in projects like this. Teach them to give back. Teach them to serve others! Also, what a great way for teachers to spend time doing team building work!

First things first, we’ve got to protect our kids. We’ve got to be proactive about school security. Priority number 1.

Last day for Early Voting for the May 17 Cleveland County Primary is May 14.
