Many friends and neighbors were educated on how to prevent opioid overdoses—highlighting the use of rx drop-off locations to reduce the amount of restricted substances available for misuse. We also talked about what your family can do in the event of an overdose.

We also had a lot of fun while we sharing our new “Healthy Selfie” machine, which will allow us to increase connections across our regional service area.

**Teen Clubhouse Coming to Camden**

Our Executive Principal, Steven Sainz was invited to give an update on the TeenConnect Camden Afterschool Clubhouse to our Camden County School Board. We are excited to announce the location of the clubhouse: the Kingsland Historic Train Depot! This is thanks to the partnership of the City of Kingsland, Georgia. A quality team will be hired for the center and a buildout will happen during the 2024 Summer, with the center opening for afterschool programs in August 2024.

We appreciate the support of Camden County Schools, instrumental in securing annual funds for the project, a very competitive process. We are now working with the system on several teen listening sessions and a parent interest survey; in an effort to align the program with current needs and interests. We are also working on options to provide full and free transportation to and from schools for participating youth.

More updates for TeenConnect coming soon! Camden Connection is proud to serve as a community development organization in Camden and the surrounding region; serving our coastal families since 1983. Information on this project and other organizational initiatives will be posted on camdenconnection.org
