What a weekend! Thank you so much for showing up! As we’re winding down from the last two days, we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve you folks each & every day. We can have all the ice cream, burgers, and hot dogs ready to go, but it’s everyone in the community who makes this the best neighborhood ice cream shop!

It was so wonderful seeing all the returning faces, and of course, we always love to make new friends through the service window as well.

We had wanted to do a raffle with a few winners receiving shirts, Mickey’s mugs, or gift certificates on the opening night, but we were so busy running around! And unfortunately the night got away from us. So for those who received a raffle ticket, we will still announce a winner! But we’ll also open up the raffle to all of you who follow us here online. To enter, just comment below and tag a friend who you’re going to bring on an ice cream date this summer in the comment. Winners will be announced Tuesday (5/21) night!!

Neighbors, I can promise that the staff here wants us to be open more than anyone! We’re missing you all, and we can’t wait to finally be open. We can see the finish line with our renovation, and after some unforeseen hurdles with the process, we should be able to open soon. You have our promise that once this renovation delay is behind us, we’ll never have a delayed opening again.

We’re hiring a cook for our new & improved food menu! We’re looking for someone new to professional cooking who wants to learn alongside our CIA graduate owner, an experienced chef to help make the menu their own, or anyone in between! And of course, we’re always looking for scoopers to work the window. Due to some changes and age restrictions with some of the new equipment, we’ll primarily be hiring folks 16+ years old this season and beyond.

We unfortunatey can’t announce an exact opening date, but it should be soon! And if you already have your summer job lined up, we’ll also have these shirts for sale when we open up!

Howdy neighbors! 🍦

If you came to Mickey’s Igloo last season, you likely met a handful of new faces behind the counter, one of which was this handsome fella, me! I’m Kevin. I’m the new owner here at The Original Mickey’s Igloo. I was at the shop all spring last year learning from the Bigando family before they passed the cone to my family & I last May. I served up hundreds of sundaes and Texas hot wieners to all the lovely folks who stopped by our roadside shop all season long, and I even served some cones a couple days into winter as people kept coming out!

One of the best parts of this job is that I love hearing everyone’s stories & fond memories about Mickey’s. I have such an appreciation for the history of this shop, and I’m honored to be able to follow in the footsteps of some great shopkeepers. I know that I’ve got some big shoes to fill in this community!

We have a bunch of great ideas churning this off-season of ways to build on the storied success of Mickey’s Igloo. We do plan on making some improvements and some slight changes, but have no fear: lots will stay the same. And yes, the hot dog sauce recipe has been passed down! That isn’t changing one bit 🌭. We just have a few minor things to sort out before we can open for the 2024 season, and when we have a reopening date, we’ll let you all know. Hope to see you all soon on the other side of the counter!

If you didn’t pre-order, thanks to some early birds swooping up some of the extra pies we prepared, we have just TWO pies left for walk-ups (one Holiday Heath Pie and one Half Baked Cookie Dough & Brownie Bit Pie). Come pick them up before they’re gone!

Happy to announce the return of our ice cream pies! Today we’re opening up the pre-orders for Christmas pies. We have three pre-sets: Holiday Heath, S’mores Mud Pie, and the return of our Half Baked (cookie dough & brownie bit) Pie. You can read the full information on our online ordering site (link in bio), or you can talk to our pie maker to customize your own! (vegan & gluten-free options available). Some options may sell out, so get your orders in early!
