" I would like to buy a box of ammo" Ah, but life has changed in NY. Now there are time consuming background checks and possible delays while purchasing ammo.
Since it is so time consuming ( full background check just like fi****ms) we have a policy of $100 minimum ammo purchase. Gone are the days ( in NYS) of just picking up a box of ammo. There is a fee from the state for each background check, so financially it makes sense to buy more at a time.
Another thing to consider is possible restrictions on ammo amounts in the future.
Stock up now, so you don't run short later.
There are lawsuits to try to change/ get rid of this law. But lawsuits take years. We currently need to adapt to be able to insure our personal ammo supplies. Stop in when you can and build up your ammo reserves!

We have the ammo you are looking for! We just got in 20 ga Re*****on Accutip slugs! We haven't seen these in a couple years. Get them while you can.
We also have a limited supply of Re*****on Accutip in 12 ga, both 2 3/4 and 3 ".

To the re-loaders: important news:The Federal government has written new regulations for individuals that have powder for reloading. It is in the comment stage. That only lasts for several weeks- then they make it permanent if there are not enough complaints. I am not sure where to find the proposed regulation and the comment section- check online.
They want to make individuals live up to the same requirements as a store, make you contact your local fire official and keep records for 5 years, but wait- there's more: ATF agent will be allowed to inspect your powder at any convenient time.
Make your voices heard! They are restricting all of us!

Buy ammo now! With the new regulations going into place on September 13, 2023, it is a good time to stock up.

BAD NEWS: Buy your fi****ms and ammunition before September 13Th! It is official. NYS will start doing the background checks for all fi****ms ( and charge $ for it- $9.50 I believe) and require background check for ammunition (also a charge -$2.50) starting on September 13th. How bad is this news? Well, the current system allowed the dealers to contact the ATF directly, and get answers fairly simply and in a timely manner(most of the time) on background checks for fi****ms. Some of you could get your fi****ms in a few minutes, if there was no delay.
There will most likely be issues as the new system starts, and the NYS Police act as an intermediary for the background checks.
One point of interest: if the ATF does not provide a response ( in 30 days or longer) we will not be able to transfer the firearm to the buyer. This is very bad news for those of you in the forever loop where the ATF never answers.
Both NJ and PA currently act as intermediaries and it takes more than 2 weeks to get an answer in NJ, whereas PA gets it done in timely manner. We can only guess what will happen in NY.
Ammo background checks are done on the new system for NYS. The answers you will get are "Proceed" -yes you can buy it: or "Delay" - wait until they get enough information to say yes or no: or "Deny" no you cannot buy ammunition.
I don't know where they come up with legal grounds to deny someone the right to buy ammunition. But they will do whatever they want. This in NY. BUY YOUR GUNS AND AMMO NOW!

For you military fans, we have a very interesting piece of history. This is a S&W US Army Model 1917 revolver in 45 acp. It is a very good condition and has been completely cleaned. Worth a trip to see this unusual revolver. Maybe you need one for your collection!

This would be a fun revolver to own. A classic S&W Model 64, six shot double action revolver.
It has a 4" barrel and adjustable rear sight. The nickel finish is starting to show some wear. The bore is good and the lock up is tight.

Semi Auto rifle permit!??!!
Many of our customers have been surprised when they find out that they need a permit(!) to purchase any semi auto rifle. This is NY. Crazy laws are being added frequently.
This new law went into effect on Sept. 4, 2022.
In order to "purchase or take into possession" any semi auto rifle - from 22lr to 50 cal- you need to be over 21 years old, and have the endorsement of "Semi Auto Rifle" added to your pistol permit (if you currently have one) or to apply for a Semi Auto Rifle permit if you have no pistol permit. The application for S. A. rifle is almost identical to the pistol permit application. Just the 18 hour class is not required for the rifle permit.
Many counties have a short form to fill out to add the endorsement of Semi Auto Rifle to current pistol permits.
Big frustration for many people.
The law doesn't affect the rifles you currently own. No permit needed for current guns, jut any future gun.
This was not a cheerful post.
I did want to get the info out there to more people. Customers who have gotten the endorsement have said it took 2 to 6 weeks to get this done.
We have plenty of rifles for sale and they are getting lonely!
