it’s such a gorgeous day and we are feeling grateful… for the tomatoes and basil at summertime peak in the garden, for the tub of stracciatelle from on rte 28 that feels like it’s become our new best friend and this incredible one-two punch of the best olive oil and balsamic that just happen to be hanging here on the counter. total up in here 😋

Join us on July 20th for the first installment of a series exploring the varied regional cuisines of Italy with Chef Jonny Giordani. First stop is Rome--where simply prepared seasonal ingredients have always prevailed--and the menu looks delizioso!
Together we'll make Fried Zucchini Blossoms with fresh mozzarella and Mediterranean anchovies; Roman Style Semolina 'Gnocchi' Cacio e Pepe with a Pecorino Romano and Parmigiano Reggiano fonduta; 'Agnello Scottadito' 48hr marinated lamb chops with extra virgin olive oil, rosemary and garlic served with a Mediterranean salad of rucola, fennel and capers; and Classic Tiramisu with espresso dipped ladyfingers layered with mascarpone cream!

We couldn't be more excited to welcome Melina Hammer, from Catbird Cottage, into our kitchen on July 27th for her premier workshop! We'll be preparing dishes together from her award-winning book 'A Year at Catbird Cottage' that emphasizes cooking and living in a more connected and joyful way.
Together we'll make Cecamariti Pasta (a pillowy, chewy, yeasted handmade pasta) with brown butter, Castelvetrano olives, torn basil, lemon zest and crispy sunflower seeds; Roasted Side of Steelhead Trout with spicy cucumber-orange salsa; and a Double Rye Buckwheat Plum Cake for dessert!

what’s your go-to meal these days? we’ve been eating lots of “dumpling salads” with handfuls of whatever’s in season, kimchee and a healthy smattering of chili crisp—which unto itself is a miraculous pantry staple to next level simply steamed and blanched veggies! hint* kimchee liquid makes an excellent base for vinaigrettes!
