It's November! And contrary to what the weather outside will have you believe, the holidays will be here before we know it. That's why Thanksgiving preorders for pies, bread, pastries, and more are now live on our special holiday site. We’ll have pickups in-store on Wednesday, November 27 as well as Thanksgiving morning, along with a limited number of walk-up offerings.

This is our favorite time of year in the bakery, and every fall we look forward to adding new and different recipes to our menu while also recreating and upholding the traditional favorites you know and love — and making a little more of everything, every year, so that we can share our creations with even more of you.

That being said, we are still a very small team and quantities ARE limited, so we recommend ordering early. We are so THANKFUL for all of you who keep us going year-round, and we look forward to being a part of your holiday table!

This weekend we'll have Spiced Butternut Squash Levain, Spelt Ancient Grain Loaf, and all the usual Saturday specials. (Yes, you do have to do two separate orders for Thanksgiving and for regular weekend pickups -- it helps us keep numbers straight for different days and weeks.) What a weekend it’s been so far! Today’s forecast may be gloomy but there’s still lots to do (and eat!) all over our little city today. We’re here til 3 with sandwiches, bread, and pastries - including todays special, the PestO-Positive!

*Please note: No bagels today! Lots and lots of milk buns, though, for those egg sandos. ❤️

Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of Jewish New Year, starts tomorrow evening — and we’ll be baking up lots of braided round challah for your holiday table. A limited number of the loaves we’re baking Wednesday are up for presale on our site now, and these can be picked up either Wednesday or Thursday. (Just please note that if you combine a challah with additional bread and pastries, those will all be from the Wednesday bake — UNLESS you leave a note at checkout specifying Thursday!) We’re planning to make more on Friday, as well, to sell throughout the weekend. Shana Tova!

Get to know our bagels! 🥯

KB+B bagels are made with organic flour and our sourdough starter. They are slow-fermented, hand-rolled, and proofed overnight before being boiled and baked every Saturday morning. They’re dense and chewy, with just the right amount of crust on the outside. Our toppings include:

⭐️ Plain

⭐️ Poppy

⭐️ Sesame

⭐️ Sea Salt

⭐️ Everything (Garlic, onion, sesame, poppy, and salt)

⭐️ Mumbai (An Indian spice blend including black caraway AKA nigella seed, coriander, cumin, and garlic)

⭐️ and Za’atar (Our own blend of Middle Eastern spices including thyme, oregano, and sesame)

Our bagels are available for weekend preorder by the half-dozen starting Fridays at 3:30, with a schmear or sandwich in the shop on Saturdays and Sundays, and can be ordered by the platter (or giant box!) for special catered events.

Nashville Hot Tofu on a rainy day. This vegetarian (not vegan) sandwich is full of flavor, crunch, spice, and deliciousness. Even the non-tofu fans in the house gave it two thumbs up! Give it a try and let us know what you think. We’re here til 3!

Happy Friday, Kingston! This is your weekly reminder that bread and pastries are up online for your Saturday pickup, but ALSO a heads up about TOMORROW, which will be a little different than usual:

Several roads in the Stockade District (including ours) will be closed from 8 am until the show wraps up around 3, so we are SHIFTING OUR OPERATIONS ONE HOUR LATER for TOMORROW only, and will be open from 10 to 4. If you plan to drive in to see us, note that the municipal parking lots will be available but you’ll have to walk from there to get to us, OR you may be able to reach us once the roads open back up after 3.

In other words, we will not be open at 9 AM, not for preorders NOR for walk-ins. But we WILL BE OPEN from 10 to 4. Back to regular hours on Sunday, and next weekend, and for the foreseeable future. This is a one-day thing!

It’s a beautiful day for an Apple-Gouda Grilled Cheese! On special today, open 9-3. REMINDER THAT OUR HOURS ARE SHIFTING TOMORROW, SATURDAY 9/14, DUE TO THE UPTOWN CAR SHOW. We will be open 10 to 4 instead of 9 to 3 for this Saturday only. See you then!
