I Love my clients!
On the to road to planning weddings I often find couples worrying about the weather, and for all the years Iv been in this business (which is way many more the I care to admit as to not age myself 😅) I have said that weather truly is not what’s important, but YOU are!
You are what’s important, your relationship and your family is. You being and feeling loved is important as is you being happy, warm and well feed!
Let’s be real, weather can not be controlled, so why worry about something we can’t controll?
Last Saturdays wedding with Rowan & Kurt had one of the biggest downpours Iv experience in years, yet everyone and I mean everyone was happy, having fun, dancing eating and more than anything being just a lovely fun group of people…all celebrating in ankle height of mud. What a beautiful wedding and perfect night! 💕❤️
Kantarelle, the Swedish word for Chanterelle. So many childhood memories attached to this mushroom, foraging with my dad before I could even walk, and later in life being that one weird 10 year old, bicycling to the woods so I could forage my beloved mushrooms for myself. If you ask me, this guy is best served in its simplicity sautéed in a good butter on top of a toast… letting this star the woods shine brightly in its own light.
Our new kitchen windows are looking so colorful & lush, in the midst of Kingston concrete jungle. Stay tuned for more information on our new kitchen, located in midtown, the heart of kingston.
“Kanel Bullar”, the Swedish name for Cinnamon buns, is really such a deceiving name. In the states, yes sure the buns are straight up cinnamon, butter and all that sticky goey sugar. In Sweden however when making Cinnamon Buns, the key ingredient of its deeply balanced flavors, is the really fresh cardamom, crushed in that very moment by hand with a mortar and pestle. The cardamom adding a depth of warming spice creating a perfect marriage with the sweet buttery yeast dough. Each bite you take, the perfect contrast of the light fluffy bun with the crunchy pearl sugar on top. The smell out of the oven is irresistible and intoxicating, calling for another bite, perhaps just one more. Personally I can’t get enough of Swedish cinnamon buns and maybe I’m partial because the smell and taste reminds of so many beautiful memories and emotions, but even if so truth be told the two buns might share a name, but couldn’t be any more different…. Maybe perhaps distant cousins….. i don’t know…. But I think I’ll have another one!

Two events back to back. Both cooking lake side and both near and dear repeat customers that makes you feel like family! Im beat, got some serious eating on my own to catch up on, but first let’s go foraging for chanterelles. Life is good. Happy 4th of July Everyone!

You know what they say; “Don’t play with fire if you can’t handle the heat”We have definitely been handling the heat these last two years and keep going at it. Make no mistake, this is absolutely not a complaint but rather huge gratitude for all our amazing clients keeping us so busy as we rather rapidly are growing from being a seasonal catering business to now catering both small and large events year around. I’m so thankful to add regulars to our repertoire and more then anything, the romantic dork in me always loving a sweet beautiful wedding 💕
Iv been quite for a little while now, but the world has been on fire and we have been working our sweet tushes off, and just finally last night finished our last event of the season. I can’t say enough good things about our incredibly beautiful clients, truly inside out beautiful couples and families, some kindred spirits becoming life long friends. I feel beyond blessed to be able to do the thing I love and surrounded by people I love…. every single day. Here is to a Happy and Beautiful New Years! 📷
So this weekend I’m taking a course to further my foraging skills and get certified. I’m beyond excited to meet John Michelotti founder of of and learn more of the world of mycelium. In meanwhile, one of my favorite summer combos, chanterelles with Brie and prosciutto chips on buttered toast.
How beautiful are these photos!! I just love love way of capturing this beautiful day of Emily and David’s love 💕 Congratulations again and again & 🥂❤️💍

Today its been seven years since I with flowers in hair and a big bottle of champagne in hand opened the doors to our Grounded Cafe. I miss the warm feeling of this place we created, I miss all the beautiful faces and the smell of fresh brewed coffee and baked goods in the morning. As of late Iv been considering reopening our cafe space again. What do you think? If we did, is there any changes or improvements you would like to see? Thank you in advance 🙏🏼💕
Slowly Roasted Over Open Wood Fire might be my favorite way of enjoying just about any food. Not only is it such a ceremonial experience but when eating animals it also lends to respectfully uses the whole animal, leaving little to no waste. If we did more of this we most likely have no time left in the day to do anything else ha ha but also would ultimately have more respect for the process and there for cherish and enjoy our meals more. .d.kim
The only confirmation I needed was those sweet cake moves .christoffel
