Reminder from Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office:

As the Independence Day festivities continue this weekend, please celebrate responsibly. Ensure your safety and freedom by choosing not to drive under the influence.

Think driving a car or riding a motorcycle home after drinking is cheaper? Let’s break it down:

⚠️Average rideshare cost: $25
⚠️Average DUI cost: $10,000

The choice is clear. If you've been drinking, opt for a safe alternative to get home. Call a sober friend, use a rideshare service, or take a taxi. Stay safe!

Lewd and Lascivious Battery

In March of 2024, an investigation began of alleged s*xual acts with a minor. Mr. Alvarado was identified as a suspect and cooperated with detectives. Mr. Alvarado confessed to having s*x with a male he met online through“Grindr”. Mr. Alvarado explained he believed the male to be 18 years old when the s*x acts occurred. As the investigation continued it became clear Mr. Alvarado knew or should have reasonably known the victim was not
an adult. After a search of Mr. Alvarado’s phone, child po*******hy was located. An arrest warrant was obtained for Mr. Alvarado for four (4) counts of Lewd and Lascivious Battery and one (1) count of Possession of Child
Po*******hy. A traffic stop was later conducted, and Mr. Alvarado was taken into custody for the above charges.
During the traffic stop, Mr. Alvarado was observed getting into his vehicle with another person in the passenger seat. Mr. Alvarado explained the passenger was his nephew. However, the passenger was identified as a juvenile
and was not the nephew of Mr. Alvarado. The juvenile disclosed being in a s*xual relationship with Mr. Alvarado and that he had s*x with him on at least two occasions.
The juvenile’s mother was brought to the Sheriff’s Office where she advised she knew of the relationship between her son and Mr. Alvarado. After further questioning, she refused to cooperate with the investigation. Investigative efforts are still underway, and she is being charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor for having
knowledge of and allowing her juvenile son to have a s*xual relationship with an adult male over the age of 23.
Charges: 4 counts of Lewd and Lascivious Batter
2 counts of Unlawful S*x W/Certain Minors
1 count of Possession of Child Po*******hy
