🔺️Mother who left toddler alone for 10 days while on vacation in 🇵🇷PR gets life in prison for murder - Kristel Candelario left her 16-MONTH OLD daughter Jailyn home alone in Cleveland on June 6, 2023, to go on vacation for a week in Puerto Rico. After returning home on June 16, she contacted the police. When officers arrived, they found the child unresponsive in a playpen full of urine and feces-soaked blankets. The child was extremely dehydrated at the time of her death.

Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested 28 people for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and/or drugs in February.

Out of these 28 arrests, 8 were crash-related.

Two of the people arrested for DUI in February were also charged with Negligent Child Abuse because they had a small child in the vehicle at the time.

These 28 arrests were PCSO arrests only, and do not include arrests in Polk County made by any of the city police departments or the Florida Highway Patrol.

13-year-old Madeline Soto (last seen wearing a green sweatshirt, black shorts, and white crocs) has been missing since Monday, February 26, 2024. Through investigative efforts, Stephan Sterns was identified as the prime suspect in Madeline’s disappearance.

Stephan Sterns was seen driving a Silver 2010 Lincoln MKZ with FL Tag: IYLL82 on Monday, February 26, between 1:00– 2:30 p.m., and in the area of HW 192 and Old Hickory Tree Rd, as well as Old Hickory Tree Rd and Nolte Rd.

During this timeframe, it is believed Sterns had a flat tire and might have been seen changing it in this area. If anyone has any video footage or remembers seeing Madeline Soto, Stephan Sterns, or the Silver 2010 Lincoln MKZ with FL Tag: IYLL82, please call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested 44 people for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and/or drugs in January.

Out of these 44 arrests, 8 were crash-related. Two of these crashes caused the deaths of two innocent people.

Wayne Berry was arrested by the PCSO after his crash caused the death of 26-year old Reuben Michael Goss of Winter Haven. Berry was charged with DUI Manslaughter and Leaving the Scene of a Crash.

Moyses Ramirez was arrested by the PCSO after a crash that caused the death of 27-year old Chelsea Darwin of Winter Haven. Ramirez was charged with DUI Manslaughter, DUI with Property Damage, DUI, and Tampering with Evidence.

These 44 arrests were PCSO arrests only, and do not include arrests in Polk County made by any of the city police departments or the Florida Highway Patrol.

We are relieved to hear the two officers shot in the line of duty last night are expected to recover. We stand with our brothers and sisters at Orlando Police Department and are so glad the shooter is no longer a threat to our community.

HELP SOLVE A MURDER: 34-year-old Jamel Brown was shot and killed in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 6. Deputies found Jamel inside an apartment in the 4400 block of South Rio Grande Avenue, near Holden Avenue. He was pronounced dead on scene.
