Elect Allen Merritt for Knox County Commission District 7
Knox County Political Candidate I am a 50-year resident and 3rd generation business owner of the Halls Community.
For the past 30 years, I have dedicated my service to the citizens of Knox County as a Deputy of the Knox County Sheriff's Office. In that time, as a detective, I learned to listen to people, gather the facts and make decisions, without opinion, based on the information. In court, I was a voice for victims and their families. After retiring from the Sheriff's Office, I decided I was not finished w
I have had several people reach out to me about my opponents victory for County Commission District 7. Notice I didn’t say “My Loss”. I did not lose anything…how could I call it a loss when so many amazing people came together to support me as a candidate. I can not put in to words my appreciation for each and everyone of you. The experience is best described as humbling and overwhelming.
I’d like to thank my amazing wife and family for their support and patience. I’d like to thank my close personal friends and their families for their support and being there when I needed them most.
For the people that donated their hard earned money…I have no words…thanks for believing in me.
But most of all thank each and everyone of the 995 people (and the 30+ people that couldn’t vote for me due to the redistricting of the precincts) that took their time to go vote fore me. My love and prayers to you all!
Here’s how my 9 week campaign and your 995 votes break down……
Week 1…I appointed a political treasurer, was placed on the ballot and established a campaign account
Week 2…established a website, social media pages and started collecting donations.
Week 3… Collected more donations, ordered signs and other campaign materials.
Week 4 through 9…stopped collecting donations
(Fiscal Conservative-I only collected donations to pay for what I needed) started making calls and knocking doors.
So that’s really only 5 weeks of true campaigning. Minus a few days here and there for bad weather of course.
Not too bad for two brothers in an old beat up van…huh??? Love ya brother!
I knew I was fighting an up hill battle from day 1…next time I will start sooner.
Thank you all again for making it possible! ♥️🙏🏼
