Susan and Jason at Studio H in Studios West Salon Suites is passionate about the artistry of hair! She began working with the Knoxville Opera Company in 1999 with the wig department, and earned the title of Wig Master training through this venue. She has continued her theatrical hair skills through work with the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre and the Broadway in Knoxville series of shows. A

fter his father passed, he realized how much he missed the industry and that he wanted to continue the line of stylists in his family, in addition to the theater work he had been doing since he was a child. Finding the interest and love for hair beginning with the art of hair in the theatre, they were both licensed and developed their initial skill set for every day hair needs at the Aveda salon, Natural Alternatives. After a successful time honing their techniques and participating in as much continuing education as possible through each business they worked with, Susan chose to venture out on her own to begin a new era at Studios West Salon Suites in Farragut, TN. a year and a half later,, Jason joined her in a double-suite set up. From the outrageous in the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre programs, to the iconic characters of the Broadway in Knoxville series, to the classical looks of the Knoxville Opera Company’s productions, both pull a vast volume of knowledge to address the needs of the everyday person. Their shared passion is to find a person’s best look and customize his/her cut and color to maximize their time and energy. Jason and Susan are passionate about helping those experiencing all forms of hair loss, whether it stems from medical treatments, syndromes ,or disease, and love to aid people in finding ways to normalize their look. Hair is an art that plays out through the application of color and the sculpture of cuts. Texturizing services that can aid a person with ease of styling can be incorporated into these treatments. Susan and Jason believe that color is meant to enhance a person’s look, whether to blend grey hair, emphasize natural features, or create an artistic statement that is bold. Special occasion hairstyles are a cinch with many tools from all of the theatrical demands of their careers. Hair loss clients can rest assured that there are more options available when experiencing thinning or balding areas, and they are happy to recommend the best solution for the client, whether it includes hair extensions, hairpieces, fill products, or products that encourage hair growth.
