Press Release: Steve Augeri Delivers an Unforgettable Night

June 13, 2024 - Knoxville, Tn – Last night, music enthusiasts were treated to an extraordinary evening as Steve Augeri, the former lead vocalist for Journey, took the stage at the Tennessee Amphitheater on World's Fair Park. With an electrifying performance, Augeri proved why he remains a beloved figure in rock music.

As the crowd started rolling in, Augeri set the tone for the night by declaring, "I don't care if it's a crowd of two or two thousand, it's going to be a great show." True to his word, the concert was an outstanding display of musical talent and showmanship.

From the moment the first note of "Wheel in the Sky" hit, to the final chords of "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'," Augeri delivered hit after hit, captivating the audience with his powerful voice and dynamic stage presence. He didn’t just stay on stage; Augeri walked through the venue, engaging with fans in every corner, even those in the cheap seats, making everyone feel like a part of the show.

The concert lasted over an hour and a half, filled with pure entertainment that left the audience wanting more. It's rare to experience a band as engaging and passionate as Steve Augeri and his talented ensemble.

The event, organized by Concerts For Our Own, was spearheaded by Aaron Snuckles and his dedicated team of volunteers. Their hard work culminated in a memorable evening that also supported the community, with proceeds going to local charities: the Love Kitchen, Joy School of Music, and PUNT-Pediatric Cancer Collaborative.

Observation deck reopens at The Sunsphere after steelwork construction for new welcome center The observation deck was closed for around two weeks while crews completed steelwork, an initial part of building a new welcome center at The Sunsphere.

What you need to know ahead of the Dogwood Arts Festival this weekend The festival will take place in World's Fair Park from Friday, April 26 to Sunday, April 28.

Starting today, April 17th, 2024 the Splash Pads at World's Fair Park are officially open for the 2024 season! Hours are 10am - 9pm daily (weather permitting) and will run from now to about early October.
Come see us!

SPLASH PAD RULES
• No lifeguard on duty
• All persons using Splash Pad do so at their own risk
• Children must have adult supervision
• No running
• Food and/or glass is prohibited on Splash Pad
• No pets on Splash Pad
• Foot protection recommended
• Non-toilet trained individuals must wear a swim diaper
• No bathing or use of shampoo products
• No loose objects
• No open wounds
• For your safety Splash Pads may be temporarily closed
• Splash Pad should be evacuated at first sign of thunder/lightning
• Restrooms and vending located at Security Office

Knoxville Marathon weekend kicks off this Saturday with the Kids Run at 5:30 p.m. and the 5K at 7 p.m. KPD officers will staff road closures along the course. Roads around World's Fair Park and the Fort Sanders area will be most heavily impacted. Plan travel accordingly.

Some roads on the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon route will be closed or limited this weekend. Plan ahead if you plan to be in the area.
