It’s the last day of January and 2022 is already shaping up to be a promising year. The HB team has been hard at work on the Chopped set once again and our calendar is booking up! As a small business owner, I always say busy is a blessing, y’all.

Also, meet Zac, you’ve probably seen him on the HB stories for bit but here’s a small formal intro. He has many personas at HB handy zac, artist Zac, Wardrobe Zac, but most importantly official baseball/ tennis ball thrower for Knox. I met Zac two years ago a shoot and then did not see or talk to him until I ran into him at Lowes. I got his contact info and and randomly called him and asked him to grab a beer that I thought he would be a good fit for my company/ production world that was a Thursday we left Monday for a week long shoot in West Virginia. To say zac is a good fit for crazy fast paced world at HB would understatement, he’s definitely found his niche in production/ design world.

P.S. If you see Zac ask him about that speeding ticket he got in my car on his first day on the job ( I’ll never let him live that down)

Farm Boi 🚜

This Christmas looks a little different, but at Christmas all roads lead home. The Honeycutt family has a standing 20 year tradition of going to Asheville and picking out Christmas presents from Papa Honeycutt followed by Mexican food and a trip to Target. The most important part of this tradition is the trip to Target to pick out our Christmas PJs. If anyone has ever been out shopping on Christmas Eve you know how picked over everything is and the chaos that ensues when the store is closing in 30 minutes. Over the years this has resulted in too small of onesies or dad in womens Pjs. We also throw some junk food in the cart and head back home and watch the original Rudolph.

I woke up yesterday and asked if we were still going. I got the response that things needed to be done around the farm and family members taken care of. Its been a long year for everyone in this family and maybe everyone isn’t full of Christmas cheer so I took that as an answer at first. I mulled for 10 minutes and decided I couldn’t let our 20 year tradition die this year. Even though things have to be done today around the farm and maybe not perfect for family coming in later tonight we kept our tradition and laughed and loved. If I didn’t get one other present for Christmas that’s all I needed. Merry Christmas from my family to yours.

HB does a LOT of Christmas every year. The Holiday season usually starts in July for us. Sometimes I feel like Buddy the Elf, and that’s okay by me. Zac and I have a guesstimation of 75 trees installed this year. Im lucky I even remotely decorate my own home for Christmas.

This specific set was a 30 second spot for Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championships. A total of 23 trees, 35,000 white lights, lots of fake snow, and 50 cake stand options to make it happen. Also, fun fact the main characters name in the commercial was Charity 💁‍♀️

I may be in Mexico, but so help me…I better have sweater weather when I come home. I’m lookin’ at you, Knoxville!

It’s been all-hands on deck lately for Honeybee, y’all. We are continuing to film Chopped, while we simultaneously completed a very cool project this past week in Chattanooga.

This weekend you can find us on the road again in Nashville as we make wedding magic at The Hermitage!

Also, did I mention that I leave for Mexico on Monday? Then pop straight to LA for a job, then Chicago.Get ready for allll the content.

Recently, our team styled a five day shoot for a local company. Over the course of the shoot, we created everything from a pumpkin patch to Christmas scenes to grandpa’s study.

Some of my favorite items sourced for this set are my dad’s vintage snow shoes, vintage Air Force memorabilia, and this amazing mid century desk.
