I am going on hiatus for an indeterminate amount of time. My heart just isn’t in crafting right now and hasn’t been for some time now. I’ll try to have the shop back up before the holidays but I can’t guarantee this. Much love and peace to you all.

Alright everyone, I had a whole week off and though I tried to get some stuff done for the shop, I spent most of the week catching up on some much needed rest.

So in the spirit of rest and relaxation, I bring to you a new product! Bath bombs! I started working with these a little while ago and finally am ready to post them. These first bombs are made with a frankincense oil which has sort of a minty smell and feel that works it’s way into sore muscles and soothes them.

I’ve not given up on bowl cozies though and am working on a couple of large orders. So if you’ve got an order in I promise it’s being worked on.

Also, instead of doing a giant photoshoot for the new bowl Cozies I keep failing to release, I’m going to do one design a week so it will be a bit easier to manage. Stay tuned for the first design release later this week.

I continue to be overwhelmed with my 9-5 work (or 4-4 as it were) 70 hour work weeks do not make for a well stocked shop. We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks

The Etsy shop has been booming with orders as well as ones I’ve taken from family and friends including one that’s a whopping 43 cozies! All this support is absolutely amazing and I thank each and every person who has ordered from me ❤️🥹

The flip-side to this amazing news is that stock is running low 😞 I’ve been pulling 60+ hour work weeks lately and it’s been difficult to keep up with demand. If you’ve put in a order directly with me, I promise that it is my top priority to get them finished and to you before Christmas. As for the shop, well, some of the listings will simply have to be sold out for a while. If you were hoping to order from the shop but the item you wanted is out of stock, add it to your liked items and keep an eye on it. When I fill an order I try to make a few extra to fill the shop and I may add more of what you are looking for 😉

~New Designs~
I do have several new designs of cozies I’ve been trying to add to the shop since before Thanksgiving but I haven’t had the time to do my photo shoot for them. I’m hoping perhaps sometime this week I get the time before work one day to take some pictures and get them uploaded. So continue to watch for new listings! (Especially if you happen to be an NFL fan. I’ll be adding several new team cozies!)

~Seasonal Designs~
How I managed to get out my Halloween cozies in time for the holiday, I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️ Did I have any planned for Thanksgiving? Yes. I even had them made….a mere week in advance. Christmas? I haven’t even shopped for fabrics so that would be a no. And with as many orders as I have there likely won’t be a New Years either. I’ve thoroughly dropped the ball this year (no New Years pun intended) on holiday themed cozies. I do hope to be more prepared both for holidays as well as tte Christmas rush next year🤞

~We Care~
Since I was small, We Care has been a seasonal tradition in my house. For those who lives outside the scope of Howard County, Indiana, We Care is a weekend long radio/televised telethon held in Kokomo, Indiana every year. While they also do many events throughout the year including the Trim a Tree festival, the telethon is the main event of the organization. Hundreds of volunteers come together to help run the telethon which auctions items donated to the organization in the weeks leading up to it. All of the money raised goes into a number of local charities.

I’ve watched this event every year and attempted a few times to do something to help or donate something that might auction well. Last year during the telethon I was making cozies for family as Christmas presents and decided to donate three sets to We Care. To my surprise they brought in a combine $165. Seeing that gave me the courage to open RoseScarBoutique and now we are here a year later!

This year was the 50th anniversary of We Care and I wanted to do something a little more special this year. I got permission to use the 50th anniversary logo, did some digital magic and sent for custom fabric to be printed. The picture is the result of a few weeks worth of frantic sewing between work and blinks of sleep. I did 3 sets of 4 and 6 sets of 2 for a total of 24 cozies sold as 9 separate bundles. I only had the chance to see 3 of them sell and heard about a fourth. But between those four they brought in $170! The last one that sold at the tail end of the broadcast alone brought $75! Maybe if I get the chance I’ll re-listen to the full telethon and see if I can’t spot the other 5 bundles to see how they faired but even $170 makes me happy 😊 I may make this a yearly project I do for the very charity I owe my business’ existence to.

Things are going so well for my cushions! I’m selling them faster then I can get them made 😅 But I am almost caught up on orders (only two more to go) and I’ll be back on top of things. I now have a royal blue vinyl and a black floral embossed vinyl so as usual I will have pictures up soon.

I also got some new fabric for my bowl cozies! Can’t wait to get some made so I can show them. I’ve temporarily taken my dish scrubbies down so I can sort through my colors and maybe add some new ones.

Alright two debuts in one. First off, this is the first matte black cushions I’ve done. I get the feeling these are going to be popular because they’ll show less dirt. I will say when this material runs out I will probably opt for getting a gloss black instead. Also the first actually ⚫️ cushion and it’s about time! There is a tie for each stool leg to keep it from sliding around.

Here’s my question. On my prototype I had a longer trim around the edge that completely covered the top of the stool. This one didn’t end up quite long enough. Should I just leave it as is? Or should I sew the edge to the bottom 🤔 totally cosmetic and won’t bother the actual use of the vision at all. Either way I’ve been told it feels like
✨☁️heaven☁️✨compared to a bare stool.

Running a little late posting these but I have two new vinyls for the work cushions. Did my best to try and do the colors justice. The first is a nice simple matte black and the other is a grayish/tan granite print. Both are ready to be made into some wonderful, plushy cushions. I also still have the black and white snakeskin print as well as the iridescent silver and am willing to show you what the local fabric shops have as additional options. I’m also sitting down right now to start making my first non-prototype stool cushions and will post pictures as soon as they are done.

I’ve been putting this off for a few weeks till I could decide how I want to add these to the shop but I’m just dying to share them!

I’m now making vinyl seat cushions! Though they can be used at home, their primary purpose is to make work seating a little more bearable. The top and sides are vinyl making them easy to wipe clean. Thus far I’ve made these rectangular 15”x17” cushions that fit perfectly on the blue picnic chairs with an elastic band that fits over the back of the chair to keep it in place. I’ve also made a prototype round cushion for stools (Please excuse the round one as I made it with cheap foam to test the design and they will look nicer once I make them with the ‘good’ foam). I’m also looking into ones for the bench-style picnic tables.

The cushions come in two thicknesses.
2”-$25
3”-$30

There’s two things. 1- I don’t have a huge selection of vinyl yet. As of right now, all I have in stock are the white snakeskin and the silver iridescent (I’ve already sold out of the brown and am unsure when/if the store will restock it). I am more then willing to get more variety and already have pictures of all the vinyl fabric sold in town to be able to browse on the fly.

And 2- Depending on how many orders I start getting, it might be a week or two until I’m able to get to your order. I apologize that it may take a while but I promise the comfort is worth the wait.

Check this out everyone! Denim work aprons! Mom couldn’t find an apron that could hold up in her workplace, so I got to work dreaming up something that could take the tough stuff.

Both the apron and the strap are made of two layers of thick denim. The strap is extra long so that it can be tied in front of you and tucked under the apron. I also added a little pocket that can be made of denim or vinyl (denim will hold up better but that vinyl looks so cool!) And for an extra $5, I’ll add a monogram or a second pocket on the other side.

I haven’t had the chance to add this to the Etsy shop yet. If you’re interested, I’m selling them for $20. Just message me or the shop and we’ll work out measurements and colors.
