“We thought we had for sure earned a third contract with our record (5-2, 3 finishes, 3 performance bonuses). The exclusive UFC signing period ended a little over a week ago. Now we're in the 4 month matching period. So we have heard other offers.”

When I heard about this situation from a mutual friend of ours, I reached out to Nate to find out what was going on. I have to agree with him here, pretty unprofessional not even get a text back.

Will we see Maness return to the UFC or debut in another promotion despite a ufc win streak? I guess we will know in the coming months. But if ufc make him wait out the entire matching period, that’s 5 months without being able to even get a match scheduled. Likely at least 7 months and likely more without actually competing. That’s a long time to be off work and unsure about your future.

Let’s hope ufc clears this situation up soon.
