Help me name my latest painting!
Good Saturday morning, faithful followers! I hope you enjoy the painting below. It will be up on my website soon with prints and merchandise available to purchase for gifts or your own home! Share and invite others to follow us along on this journey of mine! annfrydesigns.com.
Thank you, Susan Burgoon for your wonderful photo! I hope I did it justice.
Gretchen Goode ( a wonderful photographer in New Braunfels and my sorority sister) graciously allowed me to paint one of her photos. I did a little editing, Gretchen, and I hope you don’t mind. Fall in the Hill Country of Texas is filled with color, just like spring is with the wildflower blooms.
A housewarming gift to my friend, this was my first attempt at using acrylics. Barb built her home out on some land in a spot that has a wonderful overview.
Truth be told, I’ve never cared for blackeyed peas, so it’s red beans and rice for this Texas gal on New Year’s Day.
Working on a new skill. I’ve painted a couple of portraits before, but now, I am participating in some lessons and workshops. Didn’t get her right the first time, so I painted over her facial features and tried again. I think she came out OK! What do y’all think? Now to hone this skill so that someone might commission one!
Blue is my favorite color. I set up this still life several years ago and it still gives me a calm feeling when I look at it. Enjoy!

“The River Below” is another painting for the hospital. It’s another reminder of how diverse the terrain is in Texas……From the flat plains to the Rio Grande, Texas’ people are as diverse and wonderful as the countryside. Remember, prints of this one and many of my paintings are available on my website! annfrydesigns.com
Just finishing up this one for the hospital. Like Roosters? Great alone or in a group. Originals are 12" x 12" and make a nice grouping. Or use alone as an accent on that country farm table of your grandmother's. annfrydesigns.com
This was a study I did several years ago. It reminds me of the cherry trees that were in my grandmother’s back yard. The small cherries were small and REALLY tart, but my Mom made the best pies with them! annfrydesigns.com
I call this one "The Clique." It reminds me of a faculty meeting where the different colors represent the various agendas and opinions one might encounter during the meeting. :-) annfrydesigns.com for more.

I love the softness of this painting. Not quite Impressionism, but a hint. Don’t you wish you could stroll through the gardens?
Another example of my love for old buildings. I see houses along the highways that have been abandoned and wonder about the people who lived there and their hopes and dreams. annfrydesigns.com
Spring and early summer can be anxious times for area wheat farmers.

Those who received my newsletter saw the progression of this painting for the hospital. Here, it is about finished. Driving through the breaks of west Texas, one can see scenes just like this. You can be driving along with perfectly flat terrain and suddenly, you are seeing small canyons and gulleys. Check out annfrydesigns.com for more.
Rather have a photo print than a painting print? Father's Day isn't that far away. Or maybe you need a graduation present for that special graduate.......Maybe from TCU? Or UT?
annfrydesigns.com can fill that need, too. Check it out!
This was my great grandmother’s house out on the farm near Happy, Tx. By the time I came along, Mamma and Papa Knox had already moved to town. Do you have a family home that you would like to remember with a commissioned painting? Let me know. annfrydesigns.com
With the rising spring humidity, it’s taking longer and longer for the paint to dry. I have 4 works for the hospital drying right now. The good part of this is that it gives me time to determine the composition of the next ones. Check out more at annfrydesigns.com
I've always loved old buildings. Oh the stories they could tell. We went to San Antonio several years ago and went to all the old missions. I tried to imagine San Concepcion at a time before concrete sidewalks were installed, when the clergy walked from building to building and to the well til the grass was worn down, and the wild flowers popped up in the spring.
