One of the things I enjoy most about gunsmithing is the opportunity to disassemble fi****ms that may not have been taken apart since they were first manufactured, sometimes over a century ago!

I find it fascinating to reflect on the history of each item and the stories that accompany it.
Even if a gun has sat unused in a safe for decades, the fact that it has endured for so long and made its way to my workbench is remarkable.
Every layer of grit and grime reveals a unique narrative.

Restoring these antique and heirloom fi****ms and giving them a chance to breathe new life is immensely satisfying. I approach each one with the same care and attention that I would give to my own belongings. It's humbling to consider that these guns were in existence before I was born and will likely persist long after my time has passed.

Regardless of whether it's a valuable antique or a cheap hardware-store model, every firearm deserves to be treated with respect and admiration.

We recently acquired some interesting antiques and have more on the way soon!
We are still planning another silent auction event, but it's looking like February will be the soonest we can organize it.

Today, I'm doing a basic safety inspection and test-firing an old Smith & Wesson model 1903.

Many times, people find themselves with inherited fi****ms and "safe queens" that have sat unused for many years, decades even. If a firearm is stored properly, it can still be perfectly serviceable even if it was manufactured a lifetime ago!

It is wise to have such a firearm inspected by a professional. Barrel obstructions, carbon build-up, pitting, timing issues on revolvers, old congealed gun grease, improper locking, and other potential problems may need to be addressed. You could potentially damage your heirloom or even injure yourself!

Always verify what cartridge your firearm is chambered for and use appropriate ammunition. If you don't know, ask a professional!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our .300 Blackout Friday event! And apologies to anyone who didn't receive an invitation. We sent out automated invites, but due to some error, only about half of our clients received the invite. Our mistake!
The good news is we're planning another event soon with bigger prizes and more items to be auctioned off. There's no official date yet, but we will announce it very soon.

Man, these past two years have been so busy that we've barely had time to post, but we're back at it again!

Antique restoration, traditional rust bluing, general gunsmithing, woodwork, and retail sales here in downtown Krum!

The beginning of a fun project.
I got a shipment of Winchesters that were damaged in a house fire. My plan is to draw-file the metalwork, polish and rust blue them, nitre blue a few accent pieces, replace a few of the stocks with custom Turkish walnut, and possibly color-case harden some of the receivers. I want these to eventually be heirloom-quality rifles!

Busy day! Doing a full service and deep clean on a few Berettas. An A303 12 gauge, a Model 92S 9mm, and a 3032 Tomcat.
